  • I entered to win a spot in a secret PAXbaby stocking. I won the entry and bought a wrap I've been coveting. SO knows nothing about any of this. I told him I won something that day. He'll think I won the wrap. Not that I won a spot to buy a wrap. Whatever, he'll survive.

Also, I am going to do the TT preorder today without his knowledge. He's been complaining for months that we have too many diapers. If only he knew how many groups I'm in.

  • I bought DS girls pajamas. I had a coupon and they were on clearance so they were technically free, but I still feel kind of odd about it. They are really cute though, lol!

My 2 yr old picked out boys' giraffe pjs for herself. Were they like sparkly pink butterflies? Either way, your son won't judge you, I'm sure.

  • Hugs to all you mamas struggling with your PP bodies. You are all beautiful, wonderful people!

I also judge the crap out of people with ridiculous registries. I don't know why.

I often find it hard to be truly happy when good things seem to happen to certain people very easily. I try to remind myself that nobody knows what goes on in people's' intimate lives, but I often have a knee jerk negative reaction. I'm also a huge b.

  • M figured out how to restart the nursery rhymes app on the iPad and can tap it with one figure instead of using her whole hand. This means I don't have to help. Aka I'm sitting here bumping pretending she hasn't been using the iPad for 20 mins.

I'm kind of over the "no screen time! It's rotting your brain". I'm on my phone/computer/netflix way too much to limit M's time. Lol

If you read the research, it's based on kids who watch a lot of tv. I think at least three hours a day. And the only effect I remember seeing was hyperactivity. Which is obviously not great, but it doesn't seem to lead to major personality disorders or lower IQ, etc. as far as I know...unless more research has been recently. I don't really worry about limiting screen time. It's not like we sit and watch TV all day long.
ETA: I think the TV time might have been correlated with an IQ 3 or 5 points lower our something like that. Not significant.

  • Hugs to everyone not liking their pp body. My confession, this is the only time I don't not like myself. I'm not thrilled to be 20 pounds over my pp weight, but I really don't care. My stomach went down fast and I have two pairs of fat pants I can wear. I made a person and now I'm feeding him out of my own body. I think it's pretty amazing. I guess it's because I was never super fit to begin with. I didnt exercise and I won't to lose the weight. I may eventually try to eat better, but not now. Not for a while. I just don't care. I have my boys, I'm good.

  • I don't want to pump.

I'm thinking about stopping.  I've cut back to twice a day now and I've been pulling milk out of the freezer to supplement.

I'm thinking of offering formula in a sippy cup this weekend at meals.

If you want to do it, do it.  Supplementing with a little formula for your own sanity is not the end of the world.

That's what I keep thinking, but then I think it's just for a little longer (under 3 months), you can do this.  Blah blah blah.

And then the other part of me is saying, this may be your last child, do you really want to start weaning?

You and me both. But I don't have many since I'm so big, and they're so freaking expensive.
  • I only have two nursing bras that I like so I wear them for several days as well.

This! I'm a weird size so they are so expensive, I have 3 nursing bras. I'm not washing them every friggin day. Although I don't have leaks so much now so it's not as big of a deal.

I would be gross, but after 2 wears in Texas heat I can smell them before I put them on.

You are gross Jane. Rumor has it you also do other disgusting things like put baby diapers in your washing machine. I am soooo judging you right now.
I can't find my cell phone, the whisk, and the last box of Mac and cheese. Would you be a dear and check your tank top bra for me?
I have none of those things, but I did find a lobster. Would you like that?
    Ouch!

  • Last nigh was rough...M does not like sleeping alone :(. I say next to his bed from 4:30-5:15. The moment I even thought about going back to bed he would sit up, check for me and start crying. So I stayed in his room and had a horrible sleep from 5-8

I tell you that to tell you this...I'm up before the humans, have fed the pets and am now making coffee and one huge pancake just for me :-D

  • Could you put his bed in your room? Or at least an air mattress on the floor for you? And what is the vanilla syrup? Have you provided a recipe for this already?
The first night he was in his room his sleep was just like normal…I just had to get up for wake-ups to go to his bed and nurse him. Then I could easily get up and go back to bed.  Last night was not as perfect.  I think I'm going to continue on this way-because I think he'll get better. Maybe?

and the syrup I made was just this:

    "Ingredients

    • 3 1/2 c. Water
    • 3 c. granulated Sugar
    • 1/2 c. Light Brown Sugar
    • 3 tbsp Vanilla Extract

    Instructions

    1. Gently stir water & sugars together in a medium saucepan, over medium heat. Bring to a simmer & cook for 10 - 15 minutes. Remove from heat & cool completely. Stir in vanilla & enjoy!

    Notes

Store at room temperature in an airtight jar or container. Makes a great gift!"

It makes 1L of syrup…which is a lot and should last a while :)
