I accidentally cut LO's thumb trying to cut her nails this morning :( It's the first time (and hopefully last!) this happened. She was crying for a bit and it bled sooo much. She is napping now (with a sock over her hand to keep her from mucking with it and reopening the wound), but I still feel like the scum of the earth. :(

  • @g33kyg1rly you are not alone- I cut Levi's tip when he was about 8wks old... it sucks but they heal quickly.  Levi has also rolled off the couch... 2-3wks ago, opps.  Thank goodness all of but this is nothing compared to the bumps and bruises, cuts and scratches most toddlers get.

I have had a headache for several days now, I took a sleeping pill last night so I could hopefully sleep a full 8+... nope didn't happen so now I'm grouchy, tired, and feel hungover.
  • I had all I could do to bite my tounge when H's mom popped over during the bedtime routine the other day to "drop something off for the baby." When she got there, she said she bought it before LO was born (so then why did she need to drop it off at bedtime!?) and she proceeded to stay through bath time and make comments about STTN and feeding solids. I just gave a blank stare because if I opened my mouth to say what I really wanted to say, it would have been ugly.

We get up 3 times a night and nurse for ten minutes and LO goes right back to sleep. I cherish that time because I'm gone so long at work during the week and I'm functioning just fine with the wake ups. It works for US. I hate comparisons to other babies, because my LO is her own person and what works for others might not work for us (and why change it if there is no issue). Comments like, "when are you going to give solids? That's when I started STTN" make me stabby. Our parenting decisions are ours alone and we don't need to justify them to anyone.

Ugh, sorry that FFFC had a bit of Monday bit*h included!
  • What does FFC stand for?  sorry new to the boards ands till trying to figure everything out!!

  • Were going to Hilton Head Island next week for a few days for our anniversary . I'm not too excited just because the stress of packing everything has me overwhelmed. Also MH and I aren't on the besr of terms. Lets hope we survive together.

My MIL keeps taking LO's pacifier out of his mouth when she's around him and says he doesn't need it. We've told her nicely, bluntly, humorously, EVERY way possible to knock it off and she still does it.

Additionally, whenever we ask my MIL if she wants to babysit for us she's busy. But then she turns around and complains that she "never" gets to see her grandson. You can't have it both ways, woman!

I cannot stand this woman. She already raised her kids; please let me raise mine.

  • I have a huge crush on Usher!! I think he is so cute and love his personality! He was on The Today Show this morning, and I'm really sad he's only on The Voice during the Spring season. I wish he was on there all the time!

  • If anyone even tries to say we should be celebrating the bs made up dumb holiday they call "grandparents day" I am going to tell them to eff themselves.

They are celebrated on every other holiday... Some of them celebrate themselves every day of the year.

    That is all.

    THIS!

  • The last two nights m has been sleeping in the pnp beside our bed. As much as I love bed sharing I seriously enjoyed stretching out and turning over without worrying about m.
  • Well, shit. Someone fill me in on the gossip. I've been absent this week and clearly missed something.

  • Ds had his first poopexplosion out at dinner tonight. It was everywhere and all over DH. We were also out with friends. DH left with ds and I didn't know he wasn't coming back. I didn't feel too bad for him.

In the meantime, after I ate, I got really nauseous had started having poop cramps. I went to the bathroom, but it was so crowded. I couldn't go. We went to get ice cream in the same plaza and I ran to a bathroom where I knew no one would be to go.
    Tonight was a disaster.

  • I don't know the Larry reference here. And I've been here since bfp Does it have anything to do with the epic Larry thread on parenting or is that a weird coincidence?

  • I vote on all the polls!!! Mwahaha!!

Grandparents day is NOT happening here either. (Birthday, anniversary, ...death. Those are the days that get recognition)

My FFFC: I have lost track of what day it is so many times in the last couple weeks.
I use The Bump to keep the days of the week straight. But every now and then I don't get on here and lose track of what's new.
It doesn't help when we have quiet days.

No just a coincidence. Larry is the name of our troll. The one who's always starving because there isn't any drama on this board.
I guess that's what I deduced. I never saw when it exactly started so I wasn't sure if the name was picked for a particular reason or something. But thanks :)

  • I'm joining in on the MIL's buying stuff.
I'm sad because my mil hasn't bought DS one thing since he was born. Not one thing. I know it's not all about buying stuff, but come on!

  • I wouldn't have thought my kid would be wearing 12 month sleepers and onesies at less than 6 months, so thankfully he is wearing the clothes DS1 wore last summer at 9 and 10 months old. It looks like even though they were born in different seasons, LO is growing to sizes DS1 was a year ago, so most clothes are fitting.
I don't think I'll have a problem for winter clothes...but next summer might be a problem. (Gotta wait to see how much they both grow)

Also, I buy ahead in the clearance section. Shorts for $1.50-$3, shirts and sweaters $1-$5. I've got an assortment of 3T, 4T for DS1. He's tall and thin. LO gets the hand me downs. Until they start wearing the same size...lol.
