@empirerecords24 ohmygosh that story is terrible. It makes you wonder about those people, how they can have so little human compassion for this poor child who has already been through so much. "Nah, let's send him back, I don't want him anymore." That makes me sick.

After I was bleeding and on call nurse told me to stay resting with my feet up last night, he went to his volunteer meeting things anyway, leaving me to feed/bathe/get in bed both kids by myself. AND after I asked him to please stay home and help me.

I have been MIA a lot of this week. It's just been soo busy with work. On top of all that I had the worst night at work last night.
First, 3 out of my 5 patients were complete max assists, two being morbidly obese. So I was pulling and turning 300 to 500lbs of people for the majority of the night.
I had an lpn pretty much throw her patient on to me. Yes he was a demanding patient, but how the fuck do you stay over your shift with two hours of charting to do? Anxious and timid people who have 30+ years experience working over my 1 year as an RN make me really nervous. She was driving me crazy! I almost wanted to tell her to just give me a quick report on this guy, and I will take it over so she would stop freaking out over him.
Then, I go a needle stick in the dumbest way possible, but after all the paperwork and a trip to the ER, I don't have aids! Woot!
My poor husband though was a mess this morning when I came home. I had texted him in the middle of the night giving him the low down. I come home feeling fine, because I had already talked to OC med and they gave me the clearance, but H was freaking out that I had possibley been injured.
Needless to say, I am looking forward to my home town festival tomorrow. I plan on getting a corn dog and lemon shake up.

Well, DD was great for her appointment. She made a friend in the waiting room, an adorable little boy who wanted to play with her and tried to give her a kiss; she kept smiling at him and it was beyond adorable! Her appointment was with a pediatric eye specialist because she has exotropia (her right eye turns outward, probably about half the time) and we've been patching her "good" eye to try to strengthen the other. Though she has made some small improvements in the past few months, we are now also adding drops to blur her vision in the "good" eye. And when I asked the Dr. he said it's extremely likely she will need surgery, though he wouldn't want to do it for a few years. I was so sad, I really thought she might not have to do that...I cried on the drive home thinking about it. I know it's not the end of the world, and I have two cousins who have had the same type of eye surgery, but I don't like to think of her having surgery, especially on her beautiful little eyes

And then I got home to find one of the cats jumped up on the counter and knocked over a glass, which shattered into a million tiny pieces all over the floor. A half hour later and I just pray I got it all, the last thing I want is a piece getting on DD!

I'm so freakin' happy it's Friday, I feel exhausted physically and emotionally right now.

@EmpireRecords24 that is heartbreaking! I get sad/angry when people do that with dogs and cats, but a child! Oh fuck no. I want that baby. Hopefully they do right by this child. Maybe adopting out in the US, because they obviously are not going to be caring parents.

I have so many randoms today! First I just got a paycheck for a job/assistantship I have not officially started yet….I will likely have to make up the hours later, but I don't care, my other funding hasn't cleared yet so I could definitely use it right now.

I told a friend of mine I was expecting and she had just found out she has two other girlfriends expecting too! She is planning a brunch so we can meet each other and see if we like one another enough for a mini mommy group. I'm really hopeful because other than on TB, I am not really friends with a single other pregnant person or recent baby mama. I love my friends so, so much, but I know once the baby gets here having friends in a similar life phase will be helpful.

Finally, I am in 2nd tri 2da! (Going by 13w,3 days)

I can't with the boy names on girls in the name thread. Why do people think it is so cute, unique and strong? If anything it implies a girl needs a boy name to be unique or strong. Such a disservice to the girls. Names are part of initial judgment whether you think it is fair or not. They truly matter and one of the greatest gifts you can give your child for life is a good, real, correctly spelled, historical, non-trendy and not overly unique name...

Missing catching up with everyone while I am at work all day. So busy...I got nothing to share other than I ate Chipotle for lunch. And I've told everyone at work I'm pregnant - but still have not told my extended family or most of my friends...

I am so happy that everyone had great appointments - yay!!

@EmpireRecords24‌ - my heart is broken. A child is a child and they all deserve love - and once we make a commitment we do it for life. It personally makes no difference to me how my H and I grow our family...we were trying to adopt before getting KU (nothing ever came of it so we are taking a break) and were beginning to talk about becoming foster parents. I And I still want to do that. Thank you for sharing the story...

now, my food baby and I are in a coma on the couch. life is good!

Congrats to all the ladies who got to see wiggly babies today! My random is I just found one of my best friends has to have a C-section on the 22nd, because her baby is breech. She has had an absolutely HORIBBLE pregnancy (HG the entire time, epilepsy, scabies, the list goes on) and she really wanted a med free birth. She is pretty freaked out right now, partly because she's a CNA at the hospital she's giving birth at, so she knows better than most what all the risks are. My heart is just breaking for her. I know she'll get through it and have a healthy wonderful baby at the end of all this, but it still sucks, and I wish I had a magic wand to turn the baby with.

Apparently some people must have more exciting Friday nights than I do!  Or, they're already asleep.

I am about to attempt to make my husband a coconut cream pie.  I don't even like coconut, but he has been wanting one, and darn if I'm not going to try to do something nice for him!  The man has been waiting on me hand and foot for the last couple months so I figure a pie will be a nice thank you.  Especially since I'm still not in the mood for sex!

I had a very unexpected, but welcome burst of energy today and I stayed an extra 4 hours at work getting shit done. Hopefully soon I will be organized and caught up so I can start getting ahead on planning to be ready for maternity leave by February.

And that random sex drive I had earlier quickly went away. It was a nice thought for a moment, but just like every day I'm non stop on the go and I either get overwhelmed, stressed out, or irritated as fuck and sex/orgasms are a distant memory. The kids and I were running around ever since I was off work and just got home not long ago. By the end of the day I just want to pass out. The only me time I get is bedtime and all I want to do is sleep by then. I'm just gonna accept the fact that I'm broken.

I conceived a massive food baby tonight. Met up with friends and we found a hole-in-the-wall Indian place that was AMAZING!! Ate way too much ... then decided to stop for frozen custard at a place my friend knew. It was soooooo good. And now I'll be feeling it all night!
