Dying onesies and tshirts

Now that I know I'm having another boy (yay!!!!) I want to make some tshirts for them and especially onesies for the little guy. I don't want all white and colored onesies are expensive. I think I'm going to buy white items and dye them. Any suggestions to get good results??

Cmeon I just looked and there are a ton of colors on amazon from procion! I may only do some small batches. Is that hard to judge with the powder? I found it to be hard with rit liquid.

They are about $6 for 2/3 oz. is that a good price?

Dylon is much cheaper. Maybe I'll try that first :-) buying 100% cotton for sure!

darn I just saw this! the Joann website is a pain in the rump.  i hate that you can only use one coupon!

Sometimes it is recommended to add salt to the washing machine for the first wash - after you have dyed the fabric. you might want to look up specific instructions. Good luck!
