32 weeks - first L&D visit

My legs really swell as soon as I'm up in the morning, but worsen as the day goes on. I've been complaining for a few days, and Doppler was negative for a clot. Yesterday afternoon it was so bad that I called and told me to come right over. They just think it's the pressure from twins, and adema. While I was there they put me on the toco to monitor contractions, and they were about every 5 mins (I had no idea). So dr told me I'm on bed rest and they wheeled me over to L&D. I was not expecting this at all!! They put me on IV and and after they didn't slow enough they admitted me for 24 hr monitoring . They started me on procardia every 6 hours, and I got my 2 steroid shots for babies lungs. I am home now and hoping to work from home for at least a week or two, before leaving work and starting official maternity leave. Would love another 5 weeks or so, but I may go insane and babies may have other ideas?! Any tips or suggestions for surviving bed rest??? Thank you!!

I would find a craft project you can easily do from bed, if you are crafty. Maybe a book series you have been meaning to check out or watch/rewatch your favorite tv show?

FX they stay put for a few more weeks!

I was on bed rest at 33 weeks and highly recommend starting a serious on netflix or on your laptop! I watched three seasons of downton abbey in one week, it really helped with passing the time. Fx you keep those babies cooking!

This is almost exactly what happened to me. I got put in bedrest at 33 weeks, worked from home with my laptop on the couch for 2 weeks. Then had 2 weeks off completely before the babies came. 

I was worried about getting bored, but since I had trouble sleeping at night I took a lot of naps on the couch! And watched a crap load of TV. Then more naps. It will seem to drag by and then once they are born you'll be like OMG that went so quickly.

Thank you! I love the Netflix and naps idea! With the previews of the new season of the Blacklist, I thought about watching the first season. I like the downtown abbey idea too! I am so winded today! Baby B is so far up and pushing on my lungs I think I need oxygen! I have a feeling this will be a long few weeks!!!
