  • Welcome and best wishes!

Also do you mind if I ask about your childbirth experiences. I notice that you babies were increasingly bigger. My first was 9lbs 2oz and my second was 10lbs. Although both my births were easy, I am slightly nervous about the idea of an even bigger baby.

Did you notice a substantial difference birthing larger babies compared to the smaller one?

  • @KateLouise I'm definitely nervous that my next one will be 12 pounds with the way each one has increased in size!  Honestly, my hardest one to give birth to was my smallest (9lbs 10oz) because I had an epidural and just couldn't feel what was happening.  My labor was only 5 hours but It took 3 hours to push her out.  I'm sure about 2 1/2 hours of it was wasted energy since I was so numb.  My second labor was less than 2 hours total with about 10 minutes of pushing and an all natural hospital birth.  My third labor was at a freestanding birth center in a tub.  It was about 14 hours long, but only the last 2-3 hours were actually painful.  I chalked the long labor up to an out of shape uterus, since it had been a decade since my last baby ;)  As far as feeling a difference actually delivering them...I don't think I did.  I think a baby of any size makes your body feel like it's splitting in two when it's coming out of such a small place!

Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome!

  • @SchruteBucks‌ despite now being re-terrified of the birth part (I'm a first timer and a wimp in general)...welcome!!
I look forward to your wisdom and insight as someone who's been through it before!

  • haha! @wannabmama23 I'm sorry!  I didn't mean to terrify anyone.  It's only a brief minute or two where I felt like that, and it could just be how it felt to me.  I've watched hundreds of birth videos of women that look totally serene and peaceful as their babies slip out.

  • @SchruteBucks‌ no worries, I've been scared about this my whole life--was only kidding :) I had a friend who constantly talks about how easy it was...she had a 5lb baby...I can see how that's a lot easier than nearly double, ha!
