Any body else dialated at 36 weeks

I had my check up today and my ob said I was 2 centimeters 60 percent effaced and plus 2 station, I think I'm almost ready :) but it seems a little early. Any body else doing about the same?

Yes I am! I went yesterday and I am 2 dilated and 50% effaced. My BH contractions have gotten a lot worse and I just started having some back pain too. I asked doc if he thought I would make it another 4 weeks and he said just depends. We are almost there! I would like to keep her baking for at least another week or two though.

Re: Any body else dialated at 36 weeks

  • I was 36 weeks yesterday and am two cm dilated as well! Cervix is softening and ultrasound shows baby weighing 8 lb give or take 1lb 3oz. Braxton Hicks are intense in the evening and obviously working in my favor! Even if we do "walk around dilated for three weeks", the adventure is almost over and we will get to hold our bundles soon! Good luck!!
  • I was expecting to be checked yesterday at my 36 week appointment, but nope. My OB won't be checking me until my 38 week appointment this time. I'm good with that!

With my first I was 2 cm at 37 weeks, 3cm at 38 and 39 weeks and still went over my due date by 2 days. I was 4-5cm when I got to the hospital and my labor still took another 14 hours. With my second I was 1cm dilated up until 40 weeks, I went 6 days over and his labor was less than 2.5 hours. For me, early dilation means nothing.

I'm sad because I will likely have to be induced due to complications and was really hoping to go into labor on my own.  They won't let me go full term.

I agree, if I had a perfectly normal pregnancy, I would want to go to 40 weeks, but not all of us are so lucky.

  • I am 2 cm and thinned alot- and I am 33.5 weeks....

I usually walk around dilated to a 4-5 before labor finally hits.

For me- I do not want a baby that is preterm- so I am on bedrest until minimum 36 weeks. My last was born at 36 weeks and he had some breathing issues and temp issues the first day and had to go to the nicu for several hours. Best thing is to keep baby IN until 38 weeks minimum...they need that extra time for lungs and body fat.
