Uh did I do something wrong?

I haven't interviewed in awhile. Applied last week and got an email from the recruiter for a phone interview yesterday. He said he wanted to set up the call this week and to tell him what day/time works best for me. I sent him a block of time yesterday afternoon and this morning. Haven't heard from him. Sent him an email stating additional availability after the times I proposed passed. Haven't heard a peep. I'm not going to write off he company because of a recruiter but this is slightly annoying. Would you call him? If so when?

  • I would do a follow up phone call. Email is not 100% reliable and/or your email may have gotten lost in the shuffle. If you are interested in exploring it a call cannot hurt. I would not write off the company because of the recruiter.

This! I would give him today and then call tomorrow morning. Recruiters are sometimes pretty bad about getting back to candidates - don't let it affect your impression of the company.

  • This is probably a silly question, but you did check that your phone number(s) that you sent are correctly typed, your phone is charged, and a response from him isn't in your junk email, right?

    I had to ask!

    Otherwise, I'd call as well.

Not silly. I did check and I also made sure there weren't errors in my response. It isn't a big deal but I hate waiting around wondering if he is going to call and not wanting it to be at a bad time.

I have just gone through this. The recruiter has always called me at almost the last minute for an appointment the next day. Three times now. She said they don't like to schedule very far out. Once I got in to see her, though, I got an offer in under two weeks. Plus, I really like her now that I've met her. Don't write them off. Definitely call, though. My recruiter is super quick to respond to emails, but we've still made all appts over the phone.
