Fn to go with the middle name star

My cousin is pregnant with her first dd. She loves the name Sadie but she is set on using our grandmothers middle name--Star. Sadie Star sounds like a stripper name anyway you try to turn it so she's throwing the name out.

Any suggestions I can pass on to her? Something that balances out star but fits with her style. Her sons name is Ryan Souelin(no clue how to spell it- it's her Dh's grandfathers name and pronounced sue-ell-in)

  • Could she use a name meaning star? I know it isn't the same, but it would be a whole lot less stripperish.

So funny you said Frances!! That is my grandmas first name lol I think it's great and used it for my dd's middle name but my cousin doesn't like really old fashioned names like that.

My favorite is PP's suggestions of Alexandra Star.

  • Star kinda sounds like a stripper with any first name.

  • LOL I have read all of the suggestions and honestly anything paired with Star makes me think of a stripper. I even tried some of the most buttoned up names... even Bertha Star sounds like some weird trampy name to me. Elizabeth Star does not sound that much more refined to my ears than Destiny Star, unfortunately. Maybe I am the only one though?

I love the idea of choosing a name that means Star. Stella, Estelle, and Astrid are all great. Sadie Estelle is wonderful.

If she really must use Star and not a variant with the same meaning, then I would choose the first name independent of the middle. It is more important that her daughter have a name that she truly loves than one with just the right flow.
