Tell me all the things. What brand do you use? Do you pump directly into glass and freeze it? How do you seal the bottles for the freezer? How do you label the date on bottles in the freezer? How many ounces do you freeze together?
Glass bottles are great. I FF now and never pumped enough to store - so no help there. That said, I am totally enamored with Dr Brown's glass bottles. Sadly, I just recently decided to go back to work full time and most of the daycare providers are saying glass is a no-go for safety reasons, so I'll likely switch over to Dr Browns BPA free at that time. They will never be heated as the LO likes his "milkshakes" cold. Did I mention glass is just aesthetically great as well? Look at these beauties all ice-cold and ready to go…
DH and I are super into glass over plastic so we bought one of every brand we could get our hands on - Dr. Browns, Evenflo, Avent. Lifefactory, and Born Free all have glass alternatives.
I pump into the plastic bottles that came with the pump out (hands free bra and all) but at home use the Evenflo glass as @kaysa2 suggested it in a pumping thread and I already owned them. Bonus is that Kmart sells them 3 for $5! Currently use the 4oz because that's all he eats but looking to upgrade if I can ever pump more.
We are using evenflo as well. I only pump if I'm going out so I don't freeze much. I pump right into the bottle but will use bags if I freeze unfortunately. I anti plastic too. My now three year old was using open glass cups and mugs when he was two.

We use Avent Natural glass bottles bc the pediatrician suggested the wider base nipples for bfing. I got them on amazon. I pump into plastic bottles then pour into 4 oz mason jars to store in the fridge. I was given a bunch of plastic pumping bottles and I use those to store in the fridge too, especially for anuthing less than 2 oz since the mason jars dont have measurements on the side. I don't freeze anything bc I don't make enough and we are still working out my diet for LO's mspi. For labeling I have garage sale stickers (colored dots) that I write the day on . I try to switch colors each day to make it easier to ID in the fridge.
@kaysa2 your brain and the knowledge it contains is fascinating. I don't think I've ever "known" someone who knows stuff like you do. it's pretty amazing!
@MaddieRosie you can buy a set of 12 four oz mason jars with bpa free lids for $9 at Walmart. You can freeze in those but dh says they are kind of hard to pour.
@elsa1688 we started eliminating/decreasing plastic and other sources of bpa (canned food, especially tomatoes) after struggling with infertility. But I still drink from a nalgene bc I can't find a glass bottle I like. I need to look harder!
So...plastic is ok as long as it's not heated. Right? So what do about washing plastic bottles? I'm trying to figure out how to make this work for us...
@kaysa2 hubby was trying to be helpful and he boiled 3 camelback bottles "to clean them"... should I just toss those? I have no emotional attachment to them
DH and I use Lifefactory bottles too...best bottles ever! Dropped his on concrete and not even a scratch. We have the 22oz (they come in 12, 16, and 22).

For a second, I thought you meant your LO drank 22 oz. I was like wtf??
@kaysa2 thanks so much for answering all our questions!
I have a couple more: 1) Do you recommend NOT freezing in bags at all? Is this because over time the plastic will leech even if it's not heated? 2) Do you have a recommendation for glass food storage containers?
A) Get myself a nifty glass water bottle to match Noah's Give my husband the okay to have a reverse osmosis system put in the sink
Did I say "inspired"? I meant this thread has has given me the scientific and moral authority to spend money on"!
Crunchy red flag on the reverse osmosis. For every gallon of drinking water it produces three gallons are wasted. There are more efficient systems out there
Darn it! Of course it has to be true because reverse osmosis water is delicious! I live with a huge water snob who will only drink water if it meets his exacting taste standards (nice first world problem). The Britta was a total bust so I'll keep looking around.
Born and raised in drought ridden SoCal, so the one crunchy thing that I take super-seriously is water conservation.

Glass is awesome!

I do not pump into them because I haven't figured out a way for them to fit my Hygeia pump.
I pump and transfer to glass. I freeze 2-4 oz a time in 4 oz bottles. My LO will not take a bottle currently so i am hoping it's not all for not!
We also use Born Free glass because LO liked the MAM nipples when she was taking a bottle... They fit the born free bottles.
@kaysa2 do you know if any other nipples that fit the evenflo bottles?
For labeling I have garage sale stickers (colored dots) that I write the day on . I try to switch colors each day to make it easier to ID in the fridge.
IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.
What about Nuva ring- isn't that plastic? I'm panicking!
Does anyone who is anti-plastic use any plastic?
@kaysa2 is any of this stuff plastic?

We just drink the filtered water from our fridge. I hadn't really looked into the source though. Crap.
We have the 22oz (they come in 12, 16, and 22).
