Progesterone Question Sorry

I triggered Sunday night @ 9:30pm, IUI was yesterday. I called the nurse to see when to start progesterone, she said tonight- does that sound right, because her answer did not sound very confident. She actually thought at first I was doing another IUI today, and I said no, I triggered Sunday night, and since you were closed Monday, I could only do one yesterday. I am always afraid to start it too early.

Please advise, thanks.

When they checked after the IUI had you ovulated all the follies? If so then tonight is probably fine. I usually start like a day and half after O has been confirmed.

Hmm my practice always does an ultrasound after the IUI to confirm everything. But if you triggered Sunday night than you should have O'd for sure by last night, i might wait til tomorrow morning to start but I doubt it it will make a big difference either way.

Mine doesn't check either after. I was told to take mine the morning after IUI but I waited til night since I've never taken the suppositories before and wasn't sure what to expect. I would guess I took them 24 hours after I ovulated as I had strong ovulation pain which timed up with 36 hours after the trigger.

@sailorgal I had O pain yesterday all day- even before IUI, which is 36 hours after trigger. It always just confuses me- It will affect ovulation, right? So you just want to make sure you start after ovulation? Which in my case is after shot, you ovulate within 36 hours- you never ovulate after that 36 hour mark? Because I know she said that with me having 3 mature follicles, they release at different times typically, so I guess all within that 36 hour mark still?

I've read it's reliably within the 36-44 hours mark. But that's from Dr. Google.

Interesting. Because I have had on & off O type pain today, but didn't know if it is from the IUI yesterday. I am out of the 36 hour window at this point.

In regards to o pain, it's sometimes the pain of the ovaries and follies getting ready to o, and not the actual pain of it actually happening.  One of my girlfriends, for example, rushed to the RE's office because she swore she could feel that she was o'ing and didn't want to miss the IUI timing.  Well, they did and u/s and reassured her that she still hadn't o'ed and that it was just her body gearing up to o in the next day (which matched the timing of trigger).  So, I would trust your drugs and your Dr's on this one.  You can feel o pains around o time, but you may not be pin pointing the actual moment of o.
