PR: I need a hack to get this thing to stick to my shower

I'm sincerely hoping someone on here has had the same issue. I bought this to hold DD's bath toys:

The problem is? Every single wall in the tub area has a weird texture to it so the suction cup will not stay suctioned to the wall. I've tried wetting it, having it bone dry, etc. Is there something I can maybe put on the suction cup to get it to stick that won't have it stuck on the wall for the next 18 years? Will rubber cement work? Thanks guys!

Have you tried using vasoline inside the suction cup? That has worked to keep our shower caddy in place.

my hack was to ditch the whale suction cup part and hang it on the wall by the bottom of the plastic rim with 2 of these Command wire hooks.  I just used the adhesive strips that it came with.

Super useful tips, everyone! Thanks. I'm going to try the vaseline then if that doesn't work, try the Command water proof strips.
