 QOTW:  Now that labor day has passed, fall is just around the corner.  What is your favorite thing about fall, and what is your least favorite thing?

This is why I hate using my computer.  I don't understand why it fucks up my positing every time, and there is no rhyme or reason to it.  Everything looks perfectly fine until I post.  The bump hates apple!!!!

Anyway I'm still waiting on my FET.  I went to the RE yesterday and my lining is 12 and he wants it fluffier so I go back on friday for another lining check but not getting my hopes up.

QOTW:  We don't really have "fall" in the south.  No leaves changing colors or any of that fun stuff.  We may get a cool front around late sept/oct but it just lowers the humidity.  I use to go to the mountains in oct every year and I LOVED to see the leaves change colors I so wished we had that. I do look forward to the lower humidity, but not looking forward to putting on blue jeans, I've gained so much weight on on these meds, I doubt any of them fit me anymore.

I'm on Day 5 of stimming. I only have 4-5 follicles currently, but I'm trying really hard to keep my hopes up for this cycle. My numbers are low due to my crappy AMH. Keep your fingers crossed for me in the next few days.

@Pintobean39, good luck with the FET. Hope your lining develops nicely and your embies snuggle in.

QOTW bright colours and crunchy leaves, crisp cool air... I like fall.

I'm sorry @RNCrystal‌ I hope it's not to long before you get to start cycling.

@BlueJoan‌ I always started stims early but I needed to my AFC isn't high and I have to stim for a long time. Maybe it's because you have so many already. No real advise but good luck!

@emmuffy‌ I'll keep my FX for you.

My ER is tomorrow!!  I'm anxious to see how many eggs they get!

@BlueJoan - Hm.. that is interesting.  But good luck!  Do you know when they will do your first scan then?

Started Gonal and Menopur on Saturday. Weeeeooww Menopur is annoying to mix. The air pressure in the vile REALLY messed me up the first night. I had blood work on Monday and we dropped my dose. I had my first follicle check today, I heard her calling out a bunch of numbers, sounds like some follicles are around 13, 14 and I had some more under 10. And my estrogen is at 750. They tell me these numbers as if I know what they mean. Anyone know what estrogen levels we're aiming for? My nurse said they're not worried, but I'm still curious how it all relates to retrieval day next week.

QOTW: I love fall. I'm from the North where leaves change color, and the sun still shines throughout the season, but there's that crisp chill of autumn. Ugh, now that I live in the South I am in a state of permanent confusion. I have no idea what "seasons" are here. When I went to school in west texas/the pan handle area, they actually had fall so that was pretty good! Only thing I dislike about Fall are those in-between summer/fall days that seem to require an outfit change.

@meld42‌ the estrogen level is usually 200 per mature follicle give or take. I've seen all kind of numbers with different retrieval amounts. I had 19 retrieved and mature and my E2 at trigger was 3,000. My best guess is right now it looks like you are doing good. There is no specific number you just want it to rise. Good luck!!!

@meld42‌ I also looked at my paperwork from my IVF and my E2 was 954 when my largest follicle was 13. The next day it was 1400. So yep you are good.

Also about the fall, I thought it was a southern thing but we tend to wear winter clothes when it's in the upper 80's just because it's November and you know it's not summer. I always found that ironic.

And yes, the mixing of Menopur is a bitch at first, but by the end you will feel like a RN!

Yeah, now I feel way better mixing the menopur! I did it in record time last night while chatting to DH, and he even said that I missed my calling as a nurse

I learned a trick with mixing Menopur because I was mixing 3 vials a night .... Always leave some air in the syringe when going to the next bottle. I had it shoot out one night on me because I didn't.

I noticed that! Vests with long sleeved shirts and jeans in Canadian summer temperatures I guess everyone likes feeling fall-ish!

I think that's what I ended up doing too, if I'm reading this right! I felt I had to leave air because it started to shoot back up anytime I let go of the plunger!

Yep! I think the air is important because the stuff is in a vacuum. I didn't learn this when I went to college for accounting but I know it now. :-)

@emmuffy - FX! We only retrieved 6 eggs last cycle and ended up with 4 blasts. Remember, its quality over quantity!

I started lupron and today is the last day of bcps. I'll go in Monday for my base u/s and start estrogen next week- I'm excited to get this ball rolling!

@jessimi06‌ he didn't tell me an exact measurement, he said it looks really good he just wants it fluffier so they can snuggle in. The nurse told me last week when I was at 9 that he will prob want mine thicker because my normal cycles even not medicated I get to 11-12 so it's possible for me. Hopefully my lining will be so thick they will get stuck in the middle of it. Good luck at your base us Monday.

I expect AF next week, then start BCP and baseline testing for IVF#1.

QOTW:

--Best thing about fall: cooler weather and great seasonal cooking. I love food!

--Worst thing about fall: students return to the local university and all the sidewalks turn into crappy skating rinks during the winter since they never shovel.

Overall, I really like fall.

Thanks ladies for your supportive comments. Unfortunately, things are not going well for me. As of yesterday (Day 6) I had two follies in the mature territory and two little ones. I had a good talk with the RE yesterday about what to do with this cycle (whether to cancel the cycle (convert to IUI) or move on to ER). She is in favour of carrying on to give me clarity about what's happening with my eggs and perhaps "closure" if it turns out my eggs are crap and don't turn into embryos as expected - at least then I'd know. Unfortunately, I have low AMH and I'm already on a high dose of meds (Gonal 300/Menopur 75), so there's no reason to think I'd do better on another cycle. Anyway, I've been a hot mess for the past day. Thankfully I have a friend with IF issues who lives nearby and we went for a long walk/chat yesterday, which really helped. At today's ultrasound (Day 7), we saw several more small follicles compared to yesterday. I'll speak to the RE today about whether they have any chance of catching up in time. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

So I'm happy to say that my underachieving ovaries are defying the odds and going for a come-from-behind follicle-making victory. While two days ago the nurse and RE said I wasn't likely to make more new follicles, my ovaries seem determined to prove them wrong - I am showing new small follicles and more growth in some of the earlier smaller follicles, which are now approaching mature territory. I may end up with 5 or so mature, which is less than many other ladies but certainly a vast improvement from where I was a few days ago. Thanks for all the fx and keep em crossed!!

@jessimi06‌ I forgot to come update. Lining check was an 11, so it's not going to get fluffier. So I finally got to start progesterone yesterday and FET is scheduled for Thursday. I go back Wednesday for another look at my lining and blood work.

@emmuffy‌ Woohoo, grow follicles grow!!!!
