I'm making cornbread and chili tonight. This is the recipe that I typically use. I like to shred cheese for it and top it with sour cream. DH likes it with Fritos.

I like your DH, mine doesn't like Fritos with his chili and no cheese. So weird. I love it that way! I've never tried it with sour cream! I have a lot left over from the cheesecake I made. Hmmm. \:D/

Chili and cornbread is good but chili and cinnamon rolls is better. 

Wut X_X is this an everyday like or pregnancy related?

The thread is annoying but Im not going to flame anyone for using it. 1) Im glad they didnt all decide to make a new thread announcing their EDD and 2) We already get a bad rep for telling people where to post. If they are happy using that thread, just leave them be. 

Now I am for encouraging them to participate in other threads as well. But they dont feel comfortable doing so, and us flaming their happy Feb 25th thread will only make them more upset with us. (Not that I really give a damn) but if our goal is to have them participate elsewhere, flaming may not be the best way to go about it.

We have our anatomy scan tomorrow. While I started out as team green, all of these announcements are making me excited and I can't wait anymore! Last time we tried to find out the umbilical cord was laying right on baby's junk so hopefully baby will be a little more squirmy so we can see.

I also now want chili and am really bummed we're doing spaghetti tonight. Anyone ever used spaghetti squash instead of pasta? I'm not sure how it's going to taste and don't want to freak out DD with the texture.

Hey ladies, sorry for the delay in news, it was a long night. Surgery finally wrapped up at 1:30am, but the results were good, the doctor is pretty sure it is benign (from the preliminary pathology results done during the surgery) and everything was able to be done laparoscopically so healing will not be as bad as if they has to do an open incisios . I brought her home today and just got up from a much needed nap. Thanks for all the positive thoughts.

@StephanieLBerg - not only do I think that what your boss told a potential employer about any issues she may or may not be having with you work wise (even douchier that she just told you you're wonderful) is illegal, but the revelation about your pregnancy is most definitely a PHI (Protected Health Information) violation and illegal.  PHI is protected by federal law so it doesn't matter what state you live it she had no business sharing that information.  That whole situation sucks and I hope you relax a little on your two days off!

@bhjones1980 - so glad to hear everything is okay!

I guess with all this talk about fall weather we all want some yummy fall food.  We ate chili last night, but we ate it on rice.  That's a hangover from my early days in Texas.  LOVE chili on rice with some cheese!

@CatLadyTX I also eat my chili with shredded cheese and sour cream on top! Soooo good.  I usually makes biscuits to go with though, I'm the odd southerner who doesn't like cornbread.  :-S

we do this sometimes. It is a lot more prep than just throwing some spaghetti in the pot.

What we do:

1. halve squash

2. clean out seeds/middle mush and brush inside with olive oil

3. place open side down on cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 40-45 min (no longer or it gets mushy)

4. let cool to RT (*THIS IS IMPORTANT - if you try to slice it when it is still hot it will turn to mush - I am really impatient and went through a couple squashes until I learned to wait)

5. stick fork in the meat and slice with the fork tines into spaghetti like strings. We have also used a juliene peeler but find the fork easier and makes more consistent noodles.

it is a mild taste, but sometimes, depending on the squash or how long you cook it - it can get almost a slimy consistency - otherwise it is pretty similar to spaghetti - not as firm obvs. 

I like it best with flavorful, sweeter sauces.

I just got off the phone with the genetic counselor with the results of our Verifi screening (I believe this is like Harmony or Panorama). After our NT Scan came back questionable, I have been a nervous wreck, but the results came back negative! Baby's chromosomes look healthy!!! I have been crying from sheer relief! I wish I could drink on days like this one!

Can I AW for a second...

I talk a lot about "my" 10 children. I have 2 nephews, 1 niece, and 7 godchildren, all ranging from 11yrs old to my youngest at 7 months. Most of the parents know about my IF struggle, but have never let me feel ashamed or bad for not having children of my own. 

I just got a delivery at work from Ralph Lauren. One of the moms, sent Dolce an assortment of RL baby onesies all individually packaged. The note read... "Just returning a little bit of the love". Im so freaking overwhelmed right now.

Thanks for all the advice ladies! :-) At this point, I'm over the whole situation and am just moving on. It wasn't a secret to the new employer that I am pregnant, they did some cyberstalking and found my facebook page that has my whole feed blown up with people wanting baby updates, plus I told them during the first interview. Yes what she did is illegal, and yes I probably have a case with all the dirt I have on her thus far, but for now, I'm just not that invested and she isn't worth the time and effort.

I do feel a lot better! Its my birthday and I'm ready to PAR-TAY! (Apparently the baby is too because I've been feeling flutters all day) And I refuse to let her get me down today!

You know what really grinds my gears? When stores/merchants ship through the damn post office! I ordered something from Etsy on the 22nd and it "shipped" on the 28th. Since the 28th, all the USPS website says when I track with my tracking number is "Shipping Label Created." Not. Helpful.

Yes verifying employment is different from checking references. A reference is someone who can speak to your character. Employment verification is just that, plain and simple. If you are on good terms, you can have both done by the same person. 

Also, a potential employer often gets your permission to contact previous (current) employers. I have informed new employers before that I prefer they not speak with certain previous bosses. Or that they only ask to speak with HR for employment verification. (only 1 place ever Ive had to do this for because the situation was just not a good fit).

Ok, guys there's something wrong with me.  I know I'm old, so the ole biological clock is going a little haywire....

I'm almost 16 weeks pregnant... and somehow I have this really strong urge to be newly pregnant again!?!  As in - I was cruising the tri boards, and am getting a little jealous of the fresh pee sticks on there (there aren't any new "is this a positive" threads, but you get what I'm saying).  Maybe I just long for the initial excitement of finding out you're pregnant?  How can I want to be pregnant when I'm already pregnant??!

I totally get you on this. I see the pee stick posts and it makes me want to POAS again. I've seriously thought about it. Just to see it turn positive again. (But it could be because I am still in shock i'm pregnant after being told it will never happen.)

My posts are making me seem like a weirdo today. But I understand how you feel.

Chili was an excellent decision but I'm starting to suspect a mother of dragons thing. The spicier version he made himself that I normally couldn't handle is amazing to me.

Im sorry hun. Lots of apple juice, maybe even prune juice?? Have you been taking Zofran at all? Constipation is a side effect.

I got DH a copy of "The Birth Partner" after it was highly recommended by my friend who is a doula. I just skimmed through it and started crying big time. The tears started as I imagined DH doing some of the supportive actions mentioned in the book, like rubbing my back, holding me during contractions, etc. First bout of truly sappy tears I've had in a long time.

@lizzybean‌ lol its the worst! And no I haven't taken Zofran. I used to take shots of prune juice when I was pregnant with DS and it didn't help. I'll figure something out. Thanks for your help. Here's to hoping we get to use the bathroom soon!
