What do you do when YOU get sick - BTDT MOMs

Tonight I started feeling sick. Ache-y, chills, clammy, exhausted (more than usual). No fever, but I feel like shIt. I'm scared that it's going to take me out of commission. DH could take a day off and he's great with the babies. It's just a lot on top of taking care of our 4-year-old son (he goes to pre-K during the day at least). I would definitely have to keep helping at times.

If this happened to you, did you call in other reinforcements? Continue to take care of them and just douse yourself in Purell?

This situation sucked with one, but it's a new level of suck with 3, including 2 infants!

  • I call grandma. If she's not available, I just power through until DH gets home from work. The couple times I've been sick and still had to handle babies, I just tried to do a lot more hand washing and hoped that they were getting enough antibodies from nursing to be able to fight it.

  • Ugh. Woke up this morning with a temp of 101.5. I'm worried that it's either the flu or mastitis. Not sure which is worse!

I am going to call MIL to see if she's around. :(

  • I've only had a few bad colds since the girls so I just stuck it out. If I was really feeling horrible I would ask DH or my mother on law to help out for the day. An extra pair of hands and a nap helps tremendously, I say if you need the help ask for it!

I hope she came to help! Sounds like you definitely need some rest, hope
You feel better soon and the kids are ok.

  • I had to just suck it up. We had family nearby, but they all work and there's pretty much no way I could ask them to help. Take some ibuprofen to take your fever down some and just keep yourself hydrated. I hope you feel better soon!
