Had a consult today with a local RE who I picked out of the 3 that take my insurance. Just looking for a place to start again in case we make the decision to go with frozen DE at RBA and need local testing or decide on another ivf. Got my cd3 b/w. FSH 4.7, lower AMH at 0.9. Everything else was good. He seemed to keep calling our ivf failure 'implantation failure', which has never really been looked at. I think we are always looking at why we aren't getting a lot of embryos and good quality ones instead of why the transfers don't take. Had a bad experience with the saline sonogram today. Ugh. Anyway, nurse reported some very mild thickening of the uterine wall so he wants to r/o endometriosis of the uterine wall. Sounds like he is some sort of specialist with endometriosis so I think he may be a little over zealous but he wants to do a lap. No real indication for one, but 'just in case'. He says if he finds anything and can treat it, we could then do iuis. ...or we could do an ivf and 'see if our luck changes'...or we could do DE...No straight up recommendation. I really don't want a lap. I can't see putting myself through that without a real indication for it, but I really don't know what to do from here. He also says to take 2mg folic acid and keep on my dhea 75mg (which is giving me gross chest and back acne and I hate it!!). Says we could also consider a ivf and do a zygote transfer on day 2 right into the Fallopian tubes because maybe our enbryos need a natural environment. Oh, boy. I have no idea what to do next! 12/11: missed m/c after 7 week u/s, 1/12: D&C
6/12 IUI#1-IUI #3: clomid = BFP!, C/P
IVF #1(10/12) FSH 5.4, AFC: 16 long Lupron, 5R/5M/4F, all 4 made it to 5dt, 1 blast/1-8 cell transferred=BFN
IVF #2(12/12)AFC 21, MD lupron, 4R/4M/3F, 5dt of 1 blast and 2-8cell. BFN.
IVF#3(4/13) Natural start antagon protocol, 12R,11F. one PGS normal at day 6 transfer. BFN.
IVF#4 (11/13) C.CRM (ODW.U normal 8/13 Still no Diagnosis) EPP/antagonist. ER 13R/7M/6F. Only 1 made it to freeze. Abnormal. Looking into options of DE, Fresh vs frozen.
10/14 new local RE to look into what's next. CD3 FSH 4.7, AMH 0.9. Met with DE agencies and exploring options for feb/march 2015.
Surprise natural bfp (4 days before donor is signed). Beta #1 at 9dpo: 51.8, 2nd beta: 195 (25 hours doubling) @11dpo. 3rd beta (12/15): 516 (35 hrs doubling) 4th beta(12/17): 895 (58 hours doubling) 5th beta(12/19): 2120. U/S at 5w0d(12/22): one gestational sac with yolk sac. U/S #2 (6w0d)12/29. One little bean measuring 6w0d with HR 124. 3rd u/s(1/4)7w0d: baby measuring 7w2d. HR 134. 3/30: A/S at MFM went great except for low lying placenta. Verifi results are normal! Team Blue! Please send any positive thoughts our way! EDD:8/24/2015

    You can definitely have endo without having symptoms, so it may be worth it to have the lap. FX you don't have it though!! I'm so sorry you didn't get any answers that helped you know what to do. That's a hard place to be in.

    I had a lap for no other reason than I needed answers.  I learned I had mild endo.  (((Huge hugs))) FUIF.  It's just so hard.

    Tell me how awful it was. Were you out of work? Any scarring?

    I did the same thing mm29 did. I had my lap on Wed and was off work the rest of the week. I was able to work again on Monday but I have a desk job. I think it took almost a week to a week and a half to be back to my old self.

    Sorry your new RE did provide answers and just added more questions (well at least it seems that way).

    @J&D2007, I had it performed on a Thursday over a holiday weekend. I returned to work on Tuesday, so I only took 2 days of PTO. It was not too painful. I was given a RX for Lortab- I only took 3 pills, and then Ibuprofen after that. My RE made two small incisions. Both scars are smaller than an inch, they are on the reddish side, but all my scars start out reddish and fade overtime if you want to PM me your email addy or phone number I can email/text you a pic of my scars.

    I also had a lap just on a hunch and found mild endo. The recovery wasn't exactly fun... lots of bloating for 2-3 weeks, mild chest/shoulder pain (from the gas they use to fill the abdominal cavity) for 1-2 days, constipation (take a stool softener!!!! And drink a lot of water!!!!).... It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't something that I'd plan to do around a bad time in my schedule. Fortunately, I am a teacher so I was able to do it over the summer. But if I had to go back to work, I would've been ok to go back in 2 days. No running or strenuous activity for a while though. I made the mistake of going for an easy run 5 days after the procedure. Not a good idea!!!

    Did you have any symptoms of endo that made you decide to do it? Also, how long before you can run again?

    Thanks IFinTN! Sometimes I feel like I'm losing my mind when I talk about doing internal surgery for a small chance I MAY have a condition that I don't have any symptoms of!

    I had a lap after 2 failed iuis. No symptoms of endo at all and he found mild endo. Cleaned it out and we tried a few months on our own. Ended up doing a 3rd iui and then successful on our first Ivf. Recovery wasn't bad for me. Spent that day in bed resting. Only took Tylenol but they have me a script for Vicodin. I think I had mine on a thurs so back to work Monday. 3 tiny scars. Good luck with whatever you decide!
