Trying to Get Pregnant

Clear Blue Advanced Digital: Low to Peak?

So I searched the boards high and low and can't find anyone who has used this test and received the same sequence of results. I started using the Clear Blue Digital Advanced OPKs on CD 6 and got a low fertility result on days 6, 7, and 8. This morning, I got the solid smiley indicating I was at peak fertility. I have PCOS (I'm in between doctors since my last doctor refused to treat me for it since I wasn't overweight) so I know I'm likely to have LH surges that don't result in actually O'ing. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm going to by a BBT this evening and try to read up on some tutorials on the proper way to chart, but I figured I'd ask y'all first. Anyone else actually O on CD 9 with PCOS?

Re: Clear Blue Advanced Digital: Low to Peak?

  • @brennazesquire I signed up on FF and tried to navigate my way around but I'm still pretty lost. Is it too late to start temping this cycle if I'm on CD9? I'll have to do it in the morning so that'll be starting CD10, does that make it useless or is it still worth my while?

    PCOS is such a bitch.

  • @brennazesquire Do you temp orally? I've been using the app to record my OPK results, bleeding/spotting, and DTD. After looking at yours, I think I understand it a tad bit better now. Thank you!

  • I don't have PCOS, and I can't speak for false surges, but I am one of the people on here who uses the CBE Advanced.

While not as early as CD9, I have gone from low to peak without any high readings in between. I've also had several, like up to 7, days of high before peak. It tends to be pretty accurate for me. I will say that since I don't temp H and I have sex every other day through most of my cycle and then every day when I hit high to peak and then continue every other day sex afterwards. It works for us, but if you want to be more precise temping is the best tool.

This is pants!   I was 14yo, 115lbs (5'5") when I was diagnosed and immediately underwent treatment.... Yay for you to find a new doc and stand up for yourself.

When it comes to temping try to be quite strict at first (same time same way etc) like a good scientist.  I have discovered I can get away with booze/sick/etc but I need to temp before 7am as I tend to have several wakings after that... everyone is different
  • I've tried to look at the lines on the test, and yesterday it was pretty smeared? Today it was two distinct blue lines, which is a "surge" line if I'm not mistaken. The days the test was negative the lines were way more faint.

Anyway, I can barely even tell you how long my cycles are. I went to my doctor for the first time when I was 15 because I still hadn't started. He put me on BC pills so I would start and I stayed on them (off and on) until this May when I got married, so 8 years. My cycles were never regular, even on the pill. After stopping in May, I got my first cycle on June 23rd, had a normal 5 day bleed, then found out I was pregnant on July 15th via blood test because I was having some blood work done. I started MC'ing shortly after in between 4 and 5 weeks due to low progesterone because I went to the lab on Thursday, then my doctor's office decided to take a FOUR day weekend, so they didn't look at my results until the next Tuesday. In that time, I began to MC. I bled for a solid two weeks and felt like absolute shit. We weren't trying the first time at all (after all we did JUST get married), but after the MC, we both realized just how much we wanted a little one. I started again on August 25th, so this is my first cycle since the MC. Just from the past two months, I'd say my cycle length is pretty normal (30 days-ish?).

This has been our go to solution haha. I figure, sex every other day is a sure fire way not to miss O and my husband surely isn't complaining. Win win!

Yes, I'm 5'7" 128 pounds so apparently I don't have PCOS. It's just a coincidence that I can go months without a cycle, am insulin resistant, had an ultrasound tech tell me my ovaries favored those of someone with PCOS, and I can't go more than two weeks without getting my unibrow and mustache waxed. Not to mention the constant teasing when I was little because of how hairy my arms and legs were. ALL COINCIDENCE THOUGH.  8-|

I hope my husband never reads this! We go EOD from end of AF to O, and then I always seem to take a week off because I'M FUCKING EXHAUSTED.

    no pun intended.

Yeah, I bought the kit and the night before I planned on taking one I sat down and read the instructions front and back. I was excited to start using them the next day, then I got to the very end and read the part that says "Medical conditions that may altar test results or make results unreliable" and saw PCOS. I sighed one long sigh..... OF COURSE.

  • @brennazesquire - That puts my mind at ease a LOT! Since the solid smiley stays on the tester for two days, do I have to wait 48 hours before I test again? Even then, can I use the same kit with the remaining strips or do I have to sell more belongings and buy another kit?  ~X(

Oh and if you run out of strips and have to buy a new kit but don't want to start over with a new reader, you can still use your current reader with new strips. The reader will always starting low as a baseline so if you're thinking you're close to O it can be be annoying to start over... or maybe I'm just a nervous nelly who constantly thinks she's going to miss her window.
This. The anxiety I had before TTC was like not having a care in the world compared to what it is now!
