TTC AGAIN CHECK IN 9/2

This check-in is open to anyone that is part of the SAIF community and is currently TTC again, either on their own, or via injectibles, IUI, IVF, adoption, etc. 

A check-in will be posted every week. Please reply to the check-in post if you would like to be added to the group. Each check-in will provide the opportunity for you to provide an update as to where you currently are in your TTC. 

 

Once you get pregnant please post about your first and second beta then move over to the pregnancy check in.

TTC, without meds, hoping for a wonderful "surprise!"

Jessylane8- 8/27 FF gave me fake CH again this cycle. I think I will probably get a positive OPK today or tomorrow and O maybe Friday. I have an GYN appointment tomorrow to discuss my 8 day LP. I am hoping he will give me a prescription for progesterone so all this TTC on our own isn't wasted. However, I am going in there with extremely low expectations. I am trying to wait until Jan to see the RE because of insurance.

 

Racheyt0227- 8/27 I have a tentative FET date of Oct 5th! I started BCP & will start Estrace once I am off BCP. 

MrsAmyDylan-8/27 We are heading out of town mid September. I'm thinking I should call and make an appointment with the RE for after we return.

Chiwifey-8/27 Found out my FSH sucks but we're still moving forward with IVF. I have a regroup with Dr. Sch on 9/3 and then start priming with my next CD1 (sept 15ish). My tentative ER is set for 10/28. The odds are certainly against me but I believe in miracles. I have to because I have an almost 2 year old miracle that reminds me every day that it is possible. 

Efhoping2010 -8/27 No updates from me just hoping September works for me to go for my ODWU for IVF #4.  DH has some meetings in the "Rockies" in the next few weeks, I am hoping and praying we can squeeze in a ODWU if I go with?

 

emwaiting – 6/18We are currently off all meds and just seeing what will happen on our own.  Praying for that little miracle to happen.  You know be one of those that can say "it will happen when you quit trying!" ha  I will be 6 wks tomorrow from my last period so that is frustrating that it won't come on it's own.  If it isn't here in another week then they will do a blood test to make sure I'm not prego and then do the meds to start my period.  Kinda hard to have that miracle without my period or ovulating.  We had to do IVF to get our DS so we are thinking we will have to go down that road again so time to save $$ again!  
fullfhope – 6/4 - I have my follow up with RE on 6/12.

itsmevkb -8/20- We did the transfer last Monday of our one little frosty and everything went smoothly.  Yesterday I tested and got a positive.  I'm literally shaking typing that out.  I'm scared.  Scared of something going wrong, scared of having a crappy beta on Wednesday, scared of where in the world we're fitting another baby into our house, scared of just everything both good and bad.  

JBDamonm-8/12 Had my appointment yesterday. It went really well. I left feeling optimistic and less overwhelmed about things. I did my infectious disease panel yesterday and am going to call on cycle day 1 to set up saline sono. Assuming that goes ok, I can jump right in if I want. But as of right now in leaning towards starting on the following cycle, but I seem to be changing my mind with the direction of the wind on this one. Not going to think about it for a few weeks! 

 

Julie21613-8/27-I will be starting BCP when AF arrives in September....hoping for retrieval in October.... Good luck everyone!  

 

KDR19179-7/16 I haven't been on the bump in awhile because I have been busy with the twins and work, but we are in the process of going back for our single frozen embryo. We don't tell many people IRL when we are going through IVF cycles, so I would love to talk about it somewhere! CD day 1 was July 10, I saw the RE on Monday. I'm taking estradiol 2mg 3x daily. I go back on 7/21 for an ultrasound and blood draw. The embryo transfer is scheduled for 7/28. We only have 1 embryo left and it has about a 65% chance of surviving thaw. If it survives thaw, it has a 27-30% chance of pregnancy. I love swimming, but don't get to do it much. I never thought I would want a pool until we had kids. If we had a pool, I think I would swim every day in the Summer!

LauraBeth1401 – 7/30 Also in the 2ww.  Beta is on Saturday and I'll probably POAS on Friday.  *sigh*  Trying to keep busy but I wind up overdoing it and my DH gets peeved at me and tells me to sit down.  Not easy with a busy 18 month old!  

 

mg0202 -8/27 Went for a check this morning and everything looks great. FET set for Tuesday!.

 

mnj05 – 8/27 I am on day 6 of lupron and I'm starting to feel the irritability creep up on me. I have my baseline appointment this Friday and if all looks well, I'll start stims Sunday. My RE has switched to doing freeze all cycles but DH and I had some concerns since last time we only ended up with one blast out of 6 embryos and the rest arrested. We've all decided to go the fresh route unless lab work suggests a pregnancy wouldn't be sustainable, then we would convert to a freeze all.

 

MoFree –8/27 I had my baseline b/w and u/s today and start stims tomorrow. I'm only modestly excited, mostly terrified and already wondering how I will handle another failure. We are doing PGD this cycle due to genetic issues. I am trying to take it one day at a time but the 'what ifs' are filling me with dread and anxiety.

 

Pam MG – 8/27 Doctors appointment was very disappointing and walked out crying wondering if we would ever get another child for the first time. He was all over the place but we are going to do testing on the next batch of embryos next time due to the previous IVF where we had 7 great ranking eggs and only 1 took. Class is next week and plan to cycle October/November.

 

Pinkmickey24-8/20 Just waiting to see if AF shows or not. I'm pretty sure she will and will be here just in time for the first day of school. 

 

trigirl79 – 8/27 IUI #3 was a BFN. We have to meet with the RE to discuss next steps - currently that meeting isn't scheduled till 9/18  but we are on the cancellation list. On BCP for this month to keep my cycle regular. Hoping for a more aggressive IUI in mid/late Sept before moving to IVF (and hoping we don't need to do that at all)

STL34-8/20 About 7 dpo and counting down the day until my second opinion appointment a week from Friday!

 

Second opinion appointment is August 29!!  I'm hoping things go well with this RE!!

 

Phishgirl29- 8/27 Salinesonogram was amazing the morning. No more scare tissue and he even said that I have a follie measuring 14 and we could even try on our own this cycle  he thinks I will ovulate on Sunday and that I should get some OPK's and get to it with my newly "reconstructed" uterus. Anywho, FET is scheduled to start next cycle. They called my med in so hopefully they can get creative with the billing because progesterone is so expensive!!

Bellalou – 6/18 Aiming for a fresh cycle on the house in October.

 

Kaf7-8/27-I updated last week and nothing has changed. We see the new RE next week. So far the girls on the phone have been really pleasant to work with. We are wanting either a gnrh pump for DH or to just throw our few sperm up there in an IUI attempt and otherwise plan on OAD if those aren't options. At the moment I am ok with that.

QOTW: I am really picky about dessert and I don't have much a sweet tooth. I like boring stuff like chocolate chip cookies and plain chocolate ice cream.

I started gonal-f last night; much higher dosage than last time so it'll be interesting to see how many eggs we get. Tentative ER scheduled for the 10. QOTW: I am such a huge sweet tooth! One of my favorites is cinnamon bun, Ben and Jerry's. I love almost anything chocolate though.

On BCP which are totally making me miserable - hungry, sore boobs, and spotting. Sigh. Then we got a call from my RE today that we could move up our appt...to tomorrow. When I have no childcare and DH is traveling.  

So, the wait continues!

Just back after 9 hours of travelling to and from our new RE. They didn't review our charts before we arrived and asked me for the Coles notes version. Doc thinks I should've been on long agonist protocol instead of 2 attempts at antagonist. Would recommend that ASAP as no one knows when I will hit menopause. Hadn't heard of gnrh pump and will send DH to a urologist...which honestly seems like a step backwards. She didn't have faith that we would get a pump or sperm again before my eggs are done for good. Doing IVF with this clinic is tempting for a chance at #2 but would cost us about $10K and I would have to take 3 weeks off of work since the clinic is 5h away...which means a significant loss of income when I still have to pay my secretary and office expenses during that time. Doc also suggested we try "Cali concep.tions" because adoption is "impossible". We went in feeling happy with our current situation and hopeful, and after I think we both felt dejected. I am sort of wishing I hadn't made the appointment. Not sure what we will do next. Likely see what urologist says. And see if we can get our old clinic to comment on chances with long agonist protocol.....I don't know that I want to be back in this game.

No real update hoping to pretest for IVF/ICSI #4 ODWU in the next month or so.

We had great timing last cycle.  But, AF still showed.  I am now CD9 on the next cycle.  I had my second opinion RE appointment last Friday.  This RE is willing to do the immune treatments that helped when TTC #1.  But, they do batched cycles and I am hesitant to move forward with her alternative to BCPs or high estrogen doses to make my body cycle in the batch.  Add on to it that we are pretty broke from our two previous IVF cycles and I'm not sure when/if we can move forward.  When my husband is back in town from his work trip, we will have to discuss it.

QOTW:  I love ice cream!  I guess pistachio or rocky road would be my favorite!

GL to everyone currently or soon to be cycling.

IVF #2 is in progress. Honestly it's difficult with a demanding early morning job, a husband who travels and an active toddler. I'm really fatigued and feel like I'm dragging through the day and I still have a week to go. Assuming all goes well, ER is September 11 or 12. Since I'm doing PGD and embryos that 'pass' will be frozen and I'll do a FET in November.

QOTD: Hazelnut or chocolate gelato or tiramisu.
