Trouble TTC

Blood clots

I would have thrown the TMI warning in but I think on this board that's all out the window.  Anyway, I've always experienced blood clots during my periods before but lately and especially this cycle, they're out of hand.  Yesterday I had blood clots the size of a tampon and they're only slightly smaller today.

As of now my Gyn is no longer part of my medical group so I would need to make an appointment with a new one or wait until January when I get new insurance.  Is this something I should suck up and get checked out before then?

Re: Blood clots

  • I have only gotten them when I was on birth control or using progesterone suppositories. Definitely get a check up to make sure it's nothing serious.

  • I have rather large ones myself. Once I even made my husband dig one out of the toilet, he's an MD and our relationship though all this has reach a whole new level. He said it was just my lining and NBD. I've had them so big before I can feel them come out. I really don't think it's anything to get concerned about, it kinda freaks me out sometimes still. If you are concerned ask your Dr, it won't hurt.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Yeah I wasn't really worried until yesterday.  Thankfully I was home at the time because like you @pintobean39, I could feel it come out and it was so bad I thought it was going to drip down my leg.  Really gross.  Thanks for making me feel a little normal girls.
  • I have been having the same thing during my cycle this month. I haven't had a period since Thanksgiving, so it has been a looooong time. It really is gross, but my doctor also said that it is just my lining coming out since it has built up so much over the past several months. I normally only get them when I have taken Provera and/or haven't had a period for a while. I totally get how yucky it feels! Sorry you are having these!

I had an us once and as I went to stand on the stool to get on the table a huge one fell out onto the floor. It looked like a damn crime scene.

  • Oh my gosh! I just finished Provera and literally have the same thing happening. I was at work today trying to play with some of my kiddos on the floor (I'm an Early Intervention SLP) and felt something so not right lol. Had to run to the bathroom. Ugh...seriously so gross. Glad I'm not the only one lol.

OMG I feel for you.  I eventually left work early yesterday because of how bad it got and how... unprepared I was.  I kept imagining walking around work without underwear and one falling out in the middle of the office.  We may be an office of all girls but some things just aren't okay to share. Lol
  • @pintobean39 Oh, my!!! Still cringing. :)

OP - I'd probably just wait until meeting the RE and let them know. But I tend to put things off. :)

  • I would go see the OBGYN just in case, or at least call the nurse.  Is there any reason for it to be way worse this cycle - a change in your treatment or something?  If not, I'd get it checked out just to be on the safe side.
