You dream of washing diapers......seriously.....that's what I was dreaming last night.....and carrying my car up a flight of stairs that happened to be in the middle of the road.....not sure which is more strange.

When you bring diapers to work.

And show off diapers to a co-worker that is looking to cloth diaper.

And convert two co-workers to cloth.

But I haven't dreamed about them yet.

When you purposely save LO's cutest diapers for when you'll have company and someone might see you carrying said cute diapers while wrangling LO for a diaper change.

 

I have also brought CDs to work to show to two different co-workers. 

 

When you get excited that one of your friends is KU.  Yes because she's KU, but also because if she CDs you can pick cute NB CDs for a gift and if she doesn't CD you can give a wetbag, prefolds for burp cloths, and maybe a cute cover to contain sposie blowouts during long car rides....all with hopes that she'll love them so much she might convert to CDs.

When you realize you are out and about and run out of diapers.  Instead of thinking to buy sposies you tell your hubby to take off his t-shirt to stuff into a cover.

It doesn't matter which diapers are in the diaper bag.  Same diaper can fit the infant and the toddler.

I've done the diapers to work/converting friends and coworkers thing, too. Do people find that annoying?

I have totally done this. I often just put DS in a tshirt and diaper when we have company and he has his cutest diapers on....I might have a problem....

Also, when you start buying cute girl prints in the hopes that one day you'll need them (even though DS is only 3 months old and your c section incision is still not healed).

It's just that the description "disposable" is so appalling to me.  Somehow "sposie" makes them sound a little less bad.

I had ds in a disposable a little while ago and dh asked me why I had ds in a "throw away".

In the past, I've had to run after my daughter several times to get inserts that she stole.

She also liked handing me everything in the basket (as quickly as possible).  I may have given her some diaper hats during this process.

When you don't really care if the toddler messes up the diapers or wipes because if they get dirty you can just wash them. No $$ wasted!

When you find out someone is having a baby - first thoughts are oooo will they CD?!?! Then pretend shopping online filling up the cart with thing for future baby (and yours! Since you can never have enough!)

When people ask a simple question like "oh, that's cloth? How does that work?" and you spend 20 minutes gushing about how awesome it is and giving them way more info than they wanted

And @kountingsheep‌ I totally do that - especially if we're going in the car. My greatest fear is a car seat blowout!

When you're out at Target and need to use the disgusting and germ-infested changing table in the bathroom…and after scrubbing with half the pack of Wet Ones wipes you just take out a FST and use it as a clean layer over the table. It's small enough to jam into the wetbag, unlike maybe a receiving blanket used for the same purpose

I actually told them the brand, style, and color/print I wanted.  I gave them a list to pick from and several sites that had free shipping on any order.  I think that helped them a lot and avoided confusion.  Plus I told them that he would be wearing them a lot longer than any clothes that he would get (which is true, an outfit may only fit 3 months, diapers could fit for 2+ years).

Most of my family couldn't care less and would think it was weird to buy cloth as a gift, but just after A was born, my parents were visiting my brother and his wife down in NC. They weren't far from Sweetbottoms, and my mom told me to "give her a list" of what I wanted and she would be happy to spend money on her grandbabies. :-)

Yeah, I totally want to ask for cloth diapers for Christmas, but my family will just think I'm more nuts. Sure, they will probably buy Colin more clothes than he will ever need, but a new adorable CD that will get used 100's of times ... That's a silly Christmas gift.
