Be aware of this movie

Don't watch the movie Labor Day with Kate Winslet if you're having a bad day. There's a scene of the main character having several miscarriages and talking about them. There's also a scene of a stillbirth.
We didn't know this before watching it. I was ok while watching this but my husband had a hard time with it.

@Pickles4Prez I agree!! We're sitting there watching the movie (which was a really good movie) and enjoying a night cuddling and eating chocolate chip cookies then BAM we're forced to relive the worst thing that ever happened to us.  Who is in charge of warnings before movies??

I read the book and bam there it was. Books need warnings too. I watched the movie anyway knowing what I was getting into. I'll have to check out that link later

Also just coming out "This is Where I Leave You" I read the book - triggers. Infertility and late loss.

I just watched Marley & Me with my husband last night and I forgot there was a mc scene until it was happening.

so sorry @petitchou1019 it's so unfair that we have to deal with this stuff now.  Movies/TV shows are supposed to be an escape from life, but sometimes they end up being triggers.

I recently watched a childhood classic, Dirty Dancing, and I totally forgot about the botched abortion scene. I hate how some movies that were formerly my favorite now take on a whole new painful meaning for me.

@MyFirstRaspberry wow! I had no clue there was an abortion scene in that movie! It's amazing how we don't notice those things before.  Losing a baby changes how we see things

I totally forgot about that scene too. And even though it wasn't a miscarriage, it still was difficult to watch. Your right, the way we view things has forever been changed.

That & I must be cold hearted, that it doesn't usually bother me too much, they are stories, not real life, unless you are talking about UP, that makes me cry.. 

The beginning of "Up" I mean seriously it's heartbreaking! And that was pre- losses.

I'll still read books and watch movies that talk about mc/losses but there are days it hits me harder than others. I will still watch "this is where I leave you" when it comes out.

I can't remember the mc part in Up or The Help but I suppose that's a good thing. And as a PP mentioned, perhaps I just didn't think twice because I saw them before my losses. It's weird (and nice in this case) how certain things like this aren't on your radar until you go through it. Ignorance really is bliss.
