Ugh, what do you think? Illness related

So Hannah got her vaccination on Thursday (we are on a delayed, like super delayed schedule) and she got her DTAP. Thursday night she was fine, slept pretty good. Friday night I started to notice runny nose, cranky etc. And the last few night she has been coughing. Now I just attributed all that to a side effect of the vaccine. Fast forward to today and a good friend of mine, who was over with her kids on Thursday had her son at the hospital. He has Fifth disease. And Hannah was definitely playing with his food pouch on Friday, so definitely contact of saliva between the two.

What do you guys think? Should I be worried about fifth disease now? Or do you think the timing is off? I know I have to wait for the rash to appear to confirm anyways, but I don't want to hang around other children, or possibly a pregnant lady if Hannah has Fifth disease. Sometimes I wish diseases came with warning signs so you know when a kid has something

I agree with Leah. That doesn't sound like a vaccine s/e, but it might be Fifth's Disease (which presents with the most ambiguous symptoms until the rash). FD was the boys' first illness and it was contracted at the pedi's office...shocker. I also got it and, for me, it consisted of bad joint aches and bit of a runny nose. It was like a mild cold for the boys until their cheeks pinked up. I think I felt worse than they ever did.

Hoping it's just a run of the mill cold!!

Ds does have a summer cold right now too. But it could be fifths but it's hard to tell until a rash appears.

Ds has had it but it was spread out over more than a week. First it was the cold symptoms then the body rash and lastly the pink cheeks. He did run a nice fever like 103 with the cold symptoms.

Well I woke up this morning feeling a little congested and a little scratch in my throat. I'm thinking cold. Which is at least better than Fifth's

Well, I am sorry you have a cold now, too, but it is better than FD.
