9/1-9/7 Track Club

Hey ladies! I didn't see this started, and i didn't want to let us off the hook just because it is a holiday.

So let's hear it! How did last week go? What are your goals for this week?

I can't gif - @knittylady‌, can you hook us up with something to kick it off? :)

For me, I was really active last week, having 4 10000 step days and one 8000 step day. So I'm really happy about that.

Food-wise, my effort leaves a lot to be desired. Thursday night I had THREE hotdogs. WHO EATS THREE HOTDOGS?!

Despite that, I had a half pound loss. I could be losing so much more at this point, if I could get my shit together. I'm now at 206.3, so it's a major improvement, and i can see my stomach and chest going down, but my first goal is 199, and i'm still pretty far from it.

This week, I want to be just as active (today isn't going to kick it off right), but my main goal to concentrate on is food. Just to eat sensibly. Hopefully that won't be too much to ask!

Here's to a great week! Let's hear them ladies!

  • Oh, and @Tbags83‌ - you're up!

  • Loading the player...
  • PS how do people feel about being fit bit friends? Anyone want to compete/cheer/jeer each other on thru the app?
  • @Pup4gdb‌ - you're absolutely right. EP is not for the weak. I pumped yesterday with an electric for the first time, and I got about HALF as much as I do with a manual. I feel like i would need to pump all day every day to get enough!

And I would be up for being fit bit friends :) pm me!

  • @Tbags83‌ I don't know how to add people either! Maybe online rather than in the app? It gives me a list of random people - like people who aren't even my fb friends.
  • Yesterday got away from me! Just for you @matthew930! They say it's good to work out with a friend, but this can't possibly be what was meant!

  • @2lacyblue - I have had the fitbit flex for about a month now.  I absolutely love it.  I did "hide" the food sections on my fitbit app and just go by what MFP says though.  After I'm finished nursing, I see those sections being more useful.

I really like that a quick check of my flex can get my butt up off the couch during commercial breaks to do any sort of activity to help get those steps in.  My preferred workout for steps is definitely hitting the elliptical, but that is often easier said than done with a toddler and a newborn.  So I do some rapid marching while watching TV that totals 30 minutes over the course of the day (grouped all together if possible).

  • My goals each week remain pretty much the same and focus mainly around staying active and eating better.  Last week the family went to the state fair where I sort of let things go a bit to enjoy myself.  It was really hard getting back on track mentally after a full cheat day like that, but I got there before the entire week went to the hell.

Food - One really bad day at the fair, but every other day was under my calorie intake.  I am getting a handle on my sugar intake, but still allow myself a little treat a day.  I am getting at least 128 oz per day of water a day.

Activity - I am consistently hitting about the 10K mark and even logged close to 17K the day of the fair.  I get some activity in each day, but I did make myself take a complete rest day and I think it did wonders.  I only hit 6K that day, but it was worth it.

Weight loss since beginning an official weigh-in on 8/19 - 3.6 pounds

    Weekly Goals
    - Track food everyday and make healthy choices.
    - 30 minutes of moderate-intense activity everyday
    - Stick with my 30 day fitness challenge (check them out here -https://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/)
    - Drink at least 128 oz per day

  • @knittylady‌ - i can't even with that gif! It's hilarious!

And I just downloaded the 30 day fitness challenge app! Thanks!

  • Welcome @RLBregg‌!

@knittylady‌ - i just started three 30 day challenges :) the first day was great to supplement my walking. I go for my pp visit Thursday, so hopefully I'll get to start classes at the gym after that.

  • Glad you enjoy the gifs @matthew930! Oooo, which 30 day challenges did you start? I am doing a modified abs and squat challenge. Basically I just added more exercises to make it more intense. I want to do the arms challenge next month!

  • Well, I wanted to do an abs one, but i haven't had my 6 week checkup yet, so I'm doing the "little black dress", "beach body" and arm dips.

The beach body had a 120 second plank on the first day, and my abs are non - existent, so I did it in intervals.

  • I've missed out on this thread for the past week. I ran 22 miles last week and walked 4+miles on my off days. So, I did good there. I've been suffering through a bit of pain on my inner right knee. I don't think it's anything in the joint (arthritis, meniscus, etc.) since the pain is lower, where the MCL crosses the top of the tibia or fibula (can't remember which is on the inside). I'm going to try for another 20+ miles this week, but focus on running every other day rather than 2 on 1 off. I'm going to try to get on my bike trainer for a solid hour at least once, as well as swimming at least once.

Hopefully this knee issue goes away!

  • So DH is still gone till the 16th and I got called off leave early (military nurse). My new goal for this week is still 5000 steps and to keep in touch. This is a shock. Laying in bed thinking about it. Stressed.

Wow @Tbags83, I'm so sorry. And here I was complaining that I have to go in for one whole day In the middle of my leave. I'll stop my whining now. ..

  • I was just cleared to work out at my pp appointment...One one hand I want to take a "oh it's on!" Attitude, but on the other hand, I'm terrified because now I HAVE to lose the 50-60 pounds that I've put on in the last few years.

    Game on Garth!

How do you guys account for walking with baby in the carrier?

When you're putting in an activity, there is one called "walking while carrying something" (or something like that), and you can choose the "under 25 pounds" option. Then put in the duration of your walk. It didn't alter my steps, but i think it accounts for it in the calories...
