Need advice before purchasing used diapers, please!

I've been dabbling in cloth since DD was born. She'll be 4 months this week and is just now getting a good fit with OS dipes. In taking stock of my stash, I think I need a few more. Since we only CD part-time, I can't justify spending a ton more money on them. I found what I think is a good deal on some used BG pockets. They're the hook & loop closure, with 2 inserts for $5ea. The seller did mention that a few might need repair, but she has 35 to sell and I'd only be taking a few so I'd just avoid the ones in bad shape. 

What do you think, ladies? Is there anything I should be wary of with buying used? Or should I just buy new? TIA!

Bg is known for poor aplix. So that would be my biggest worry. Second would be the elastic. If it's stretched out it may need replacing before it'll fit your baby.

You won't get a lot of love for BG hook and loop diapers here. They don't hold up too well. For the price though....I say go for it.... Just a couple though.

BG aplix isn't awesome. I have a few that I bought new, and 2 used ones where the aplix is worn but ok. I only use them for daycare. Since DS only goes 2 days a week, they don't get used much. I don't think they would hold up very long with daily use. Just check that the elastics aren't stretched too much and the aplix holds well if you go for it.

$5 is really cheap. However, that'd make me think they were in pretty bad shape. Replacing elastic in 4.0s is relatively easy. 3.0s would be harder. How handy are you? They sell refresher kits for 4.0s.

I think I'd rather buy some new pockets in another brand, for a bit more money. I have no sewing skills at all though.

That's what I thought when I saw the price. I'm not all that handy, and lazy! lol. 

Can you recommend another brand to buy new that aren't as expensive as BG?

Not sure what your budget is, but you can get good deals on BGs. Do you have a buy buy baby close to you? Use a 20% off or $5 off bed bath and beyond coupon (they accept them) and you can get brand new pockets - in snaps - for around $13.

@AFwifelife‌ for now I'm only interested in pockets. I have prefolds and covers (which I prefer) but DH and my MIL can't figure them out (or don't want to), so I let them use the pockets.

@bazinga++‌ good idea about the BBB coupons! I didn't even think about that because I know you can't use them on disposable diapers. Thanks!

Nickis diapers has pockets for just under $9 with free shipping. Also second Kawaii. BG also have a discount if you buy in bulk. They have 6 packs.
