I'm having a moment. Jack is starting daycare tomorrow and I am crying through the packing of all his stuff while he happily plays on the floor. He's been rolling back to front and front to back for about a week now and has really good leg strength. I just noticed that he realized that he needs his arms to move forward when on his belly....and he's crawling!!! Granted it's extremely rudimentary and he made it just a couple of feet, but c'mon....this is ridiculous.
My daughter walked at almost a year and really didn't start crawling until 9 months. This kid JUST turned 16 weeks old. I am not bragging because I feel like I am totally screwed. Is this normal?
Re: wtf...crawling??
It's normal. Their arms have developed and he's probably figured out something to do with them. DS doesn't slither but he knows how to shimmy around in a circle basically.
Why would you be screwed? A curious baby is a happy baby who is encouraged by his mobility. If you think you're screwed now wait til he walks and runs!
Enjoy the new found skill and curiosity!
This kid thinks he is older than he is from birth...was popping his head up on my chest in recovery....waaayyyy different from my other little.
OP I know what you're thinking because the sooner they are on the move the more trouble we are in! I have a funny feeling my little guy is the type who is going to give me a run for my money!!!
