Cramping and a little bit of brown blood

For the past two (I guess now three) days I have been feeling a little crampy really low in my pelvis and I have had some brown discharge. Last night it was less of a discharge and more of a brown bleed so I called my doc. He said just to get some sleep and he would call me in the morning. I am still feeling crampy and I am freaking out a bit. Hopefully I will hear from him soon, but I could really use some thoughts and prayers today.

T&P!  Have you heard back from your OB yet?  The good thing is that the dark blood is old blood.  I would be more concerned for you if it was a bright red.  Update us when you can!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and T&Ps. We got back from the hospital a little bit ago. Everything seems to be ok. I am still cramping and have a bit of bleeding, but they checked everything. We could see baby button's heart rate and said everything looked good when she checked my cervix. I am just laying low for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, when we got home, our cable was out, so I guess it will be a movie marathon kind of day!

Did she warn you that there could be more spotting after checking your cervix? Don't be freaked out!

This. Try to lie on your side and drink LOTS of water and find a good movie marathon to watch!

I'm going through the same thing. I starting spotting brown and faint pink. My doctor had me meet him at the birthing center in Saturday. He checked my cervix and said it was thick and firm. No leak or break. He wants me to come in on Thursday for an ultrasound transvaginally my so we measure my cervix and confirm no issues. Today I had more spotting and pressure like the bed of your period. I have been on couch rest all weekend and luckily my boss is letting me work from home all week until I know more. Naturally I'm scared but my doctor is taking the necessary precautions.

Thank you ladies for all the kind words and encouragement. I am still having cramps and bleeding. This is day four. It feels and looks like a light period. My doc was going to try and see me today instead of my appointment tomorrow and make sure that everything is really ok. The ultrasound machine in the hospital is really for people way further along than me and they could get an idea, but not many details. @leenie1079‌, I am curious to know what your doc says too on Thursday.

Hi, I had exactly this at 4/5weeks had bloods to check hormoans levels and everything seemed fine a week later had a ultrasound & saw heartbeat. I had this again a week ago at 13weeks it happened after intercourse my midwife checked me over and listened to baby's heartbeat everything sounded okay and I had a scan the next day which confirmed everything was fine. My midwife said that brown spotting and light cramping is normally okay after inter course or over doing it, & not to worry unless the pain Is unbearable and red blood! My fingers are crossed everything is ok with you! If ever in doubt call your local out of hours doctors or go to a&e if ur gp or midwife are not available xx

I met with my doctor yesterday. He saw the brown blood. Mine felt and looked like the last day of my period. My doctor said my cervix measured 3 cm and that they couldn't see anything in the ultrasound to explain the blood. I'm on couch rest this week. No sex. No exercise. No standing for long time. He thinks my placenta lifted slightly from the wall causing the blood. Basically everything else is find. The only true concern is if my spotting becomes watery and red or pink. T & P. Hang in there. Don't stress. If it isn't pink or red, then that's more positive.
