N2IFR- ISO ideas **UPDATE**

Ok, so my lovely sister-in-law is having her son on the 3rd, via C-Section. Idk c-section protocol, but I am sure she will be there for at least a couple of days, so I was wanting to make like a, "postop/hospital stay survival kit" filled with lots of goodies and some things that she may not of thought of in her bag... I would love any ideas you girls would have. I am filling up a gift bag full of things, I am including so far, crosswords, a couple of pens, and some sweet snacks... What else would YOU want to have in there if it was for you, or something you wish you had when you were in the hospital?

SO! My plan was originally to go before we went to the hospital to pick these things up, however, today is THE day, and at 7 this morning my MIL text me saying they moved the OR time to 83, then it was 8, and my SIL asked if we would come sit with their daughter, as my BIL's mom wasn't able to come yet, because her original time was 11 in the morning... So we rushed around  made plans for my husbands grandma to take A to school, and hauled butt here.. So I have no gift bag as of now, she will be here til Saturday though, so hopefully we can swing it to the store... it is now 9 am and she STILL hasn't gone back for surgery yet... Hopefully it is sooon! Thank you ladies so much for your ideas! I will share my new nephew with you guys as soon as he gets here (if that's ok) ! I AM SO EXCITED!

i imagine she will want to sleep as much as she can. this will be the first time she's not having to care for 2 kids at home. and thank god newborns sleep. she will be exhausted and this is her time to relish whatever sleep she can get.  i would pack her some lavender eye pillow or something. or ear plugs. you can hear your newborn screaming over ear plugs. but you can also ignore the screaming baby next door. lip chap. i remember being so parched and feeling dry. i also remember just wanting to sleep and people kept coming and coming to visit. one day i swear i didn't even hold K until 9 pm. i regret not having alone time at all that day with K.

I'd actually go for healthy snacks too....fruits, veggies, etc. It's a good time for your body to have nutritious food.

Slippers - maybe something a little fun / different - for the mandatory exercise walks around the ward post C-section.

I wish I'd had a razor.  I didn't take one because I laughed at the idea of shaving my legs.  But I forgot about my pits.  And with taking my shirt on and off for nursing, it was really irritating to not be able to shave.

And to add to what Jodee already mentioned, a really good sleep mask.  A friend gave me one before my son was born and it was the most valuable thing I had in the hospital!  It's impossible to get one of those rooms dark!
