Cloth Diapering

explain all the different BG to me please

BG has sorts of diapers and I can't keep them straight. I know they have a pocket, AI2 (flip), and a few AIO.  Can someone please explain the differences? I want the spence pattern and I don't know which to get.  I have a flip and it fits well, but I was looking for a pocket or AIO.

Re: explain all the different BG to me please

  • The pockets come with microfiber inserts to put in the pocket... They are less bulky and you can add additional layers for absorbency as needed. The AIOs have two semi attached microfiber inserts that don't come out... And there isn't much room to add extra layers if you need them. Personally, I like the pockets the best.

  • Flip : Cover/ All-In-Two system.  PUL shell with flaps at front & back to help hold insert (sold separately or can use prefolds/flats/etc) in place.
BG 4.0 : Pocket.  Lined with Stay-Dry Micro-suede, pocket opening at the back comes with a OS microfiber insert (has snaps to fold down) and a NB insert/doubler.
BG Freetime: MF AIO.  2 MF inserts topped with Stay-Dry Micro-suede are sewn on at one side at the front & back of diaper
BG Elemental : natural fiber AIO.  2 overly long layers of organic cotton are sewn on at both sides but not at sides and can be arranged to put extra fabric where you want more absorbancy (not stay-dry).  *Note: Old-style Elemental had the bottom layer of cotton sewn at the sides so that there was no exposed PUL and then a tongue style upper layer.  Only the new style Elemental is shown in picture.

@charmingthemoon‌ I disagree about the trimness of elementals. The crotch is soooo wide. My 2 year old looks ridiculous in them, I can't imagine on a little baby.
ETA: that's a new elemental, not old.
