Newb TTC question

So I went for a repeat saline sonogram on Thursday and my RE saw a follie measuring 14. He said I should ovulate today and that we might have a good chance of success considering that my uterus is "brand new" and free of scar tissue. Well my opk says that I'm not ovulating and I've been taking the tests since Friday. We are going to DTD today anyway, but since I haven't TTC on my own in over 2 years, I'm not sure what to make of that follie. Any thoughts? I feel really dumb now!

With a 14mm on Thursday, I'd guess for a LH surge today or tomorrow. That should put that follicle right around 20-22mm at surge. Maybe ovulation tomorrow or tuesday?? Are you taking OPKs 12 hours apart? Some women can catch the surge in the morning, but not the evening or vice versa. 

I haven't ttc'd with OPKs in four years, so I'm a novice too!!

That's what I figured. We DTD today and I've been testing twice a day since Friday. My RE has never pushed TI before so I'm sort of excited that he recommended it this cycle. We are scheduled for a FET next month so I guess knowing that we have a back up plan it's sort if a last hurrah with no pressure for a change. Thanks for the responses!

While I'm on a roll:

This morning there was a faint line next to the control, but this evening there was nothing. I think I ovulated during the day today and the test never caught it. We DTD so I'm not so worried but you never know. Thanks for putting up with my stupidity. 8-}

I think the LH level can fluctuate, so even though you got a faint and then nothing, you may not have missed it yet..... Keep going lady!

Not to get your hopes up but fwiw I never caught a pos opk the month I got pregnant with DD. I was crazy and tested three times a day. I was pretty sure I never ovulated and I was out that cycle. AF never showed and I went to my RE to get provera to jump start AF and walked out with a BFP. Good luck!

I'm not so sure that you missed it. When you ovulate on your own usually your follicles are larger, like 27-28mm. So I would keep testing for a few more days. And DTD can't hurt.

Good luck!!! I personally always found OPKs super ambiguous...I never got a clear positive except with the CBE digitals (the ones that give a smiley face). With anything else, I would see the second line get darker but it was never actually darker than the control line.
