I am going through some painful tightening in my abdomen and only 26 weeks. Could this be Braxton if it's painful?

It could be.  Everyone experiences bh (and actual contractions for that matter) differently.  Call your doctor's office or the l&d line since it's the weekend and explain what you are feeling.  They are going to be able to help way more than we can.
