UTI 5 weeks later?

Hi everyone. I really think I have a UTI. I'm going to the dr this week for my pp check up... but has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I have that constant urgency to pee and some uncomfortable pressure. Is it possible from having a catheter during labor? I'm just stumped as normally I would only get an ocassional UTI from sex (which I haven't had). Just kind of worried since I haven't felt any symptoms up until now. Thanks in advance!

Re: UTI 5 weeks later?

  • I had a UTI and didn't even know it because I didn't have any symptoms until the other day when it was so bad I ended up in the ER. Turns out it had turned into a kidney infection. Definitely get it checked out, mine was from the catheter too.

  • Yep I have one, I'm on my 2nd course of antibiotics. Nothing like UTIs I've had before, but lots of urethra pain....
Go to the doc ASAP, they can spread quickly when you are postpartum!!
  • Thank you @shortstack930 and @kamiles1440. I was able to have my PCP doctor call in antibiotics for me but I will definitely get checked out this week when I go for my pp visit at the OBGYN. I actually think this UTI feels a bit more "intense" compared to ones in the past. I also have been feeling lots of urethra pain too. UGH.. I hope the meds get rid of it.

  • Yup. Very common. Mine showed up at 6 weeks. We have really had it all along but with our healing its less noticeable right off. Plus our potty needs are not top priority...
