Happened today...shooting stars?

Hey ladies- Wondering if anyone has had this happen before. Today I was standing and suddenly saw "shooting stars" (that's the best way to describe them). I didn't feel faint or anything, but I sat down and it stopped. Has anyone had this happen before? If so, what was it?

Re: Happened today...shooting stars?

  • Yupp happened to me the other day and it felt like I was taking a trip through Star Wars. I would definitely call your doctor, I called mine and was lucky enough to be at school so was able to get my blood pressure taken immediately afterwards and it was a little high for me but normal 118/62. I had HELLP/preeclampsia last pregnancy so any visual disturbance scares me to death. I never spoke with a doctor but my nurse said to call back in if I had any repeat occurrences over the weekend or go to the hospital to be monitored.

  • Sounds like possible BP issue. Call your doctor for sure.

  • I saw them a few times and my BP was actually low. It wasn't a big deal for me, but get it checked out.

  • I am going to check my BP today then, thanks for the advice!
  • I've had this a few times lately. Mentioned it to Dr and I seem to be fine. BP is low. My iron is low so not sure if that has something to do with it? Dr has me taking iron supplements now so we'll see. She really didn't know if that was it or not. Definitely let your Dr know just in case.
  • I would call. It is a sign of high BP and you don't want to mess with that. I get it as well, but mine is related to my anemia. Feel better!

  • I've had the same thing and checked my BP and it was actually lower then normal. But def. call your dr to be sure!
  • When I checked it it was lower than normal. The next day it was normal. My doctor said it could have also been dehydration.
