Lurker: toddler ADHD questions

I'm just popping over to this board, so I'm hoping this is ok for my to post here. DS just turned 2 and has both speech and social delays. He's going to be evaluated for the speech delays, so hopefully therapy will also benefit his social development. His dr said that he will most likely be diagnosed with ADHD when he's older (which could be causing his delays). Are there any good websites or books for toddlers with ADHD like symptoms, or is there anything I can do to help him at so young an age?

Re: Lurker: toddler ADHD questions

  • Structure, structure, structure! Let him know what to expect (where you are going, how he must behave). There is an organization called CHADD that has lots of resources, you can find it on the web. Also, he may respond much better to positive discipline (rewarding good behavior) than simply punishing bad behavior.
