Phantom smells?

Okay, I don't remember this from my previous pregnancy, and it's different from the heightened sense of smell we are all experiencing.  I'm smelling something that isn't there.  Almost all the time.  Maybe I have a sinus infection or something?  But I'm having no other symptoms of that, so it's making me wonder.  I keep smelling the distinct smell of sour milk.  It's not coming from me (I've made sure of that) and it's not in my environment because it is in my house, in my car, and at my office.  And even outdoors sometimes.  It isn't constant, just a sudden wave here and there of smelling it for like an hour and then it goes away.  Nobody else can smell it.  

Is this something others have experienced?  I'm beginning to wonder if it's neurological or something.

YES! I've been having this issue most of this pregnancy. Part of it is I just have an extremely heightened sense of smell, but I also smell things that I know aren't there - usually pee. I'm always checking to see if the dog has peed somewhere in the house because I smell it all the time. 

Why can't it be something pleasant, like blueberry muffins or oranges?

I know, right?  Sour milk is not what I want to smell 80% of the time.  I really don't remember this from last time.

I have been thinking all day that I smell like baby formula. I have not been around any babies, so I'm thinking it does not really smell!

I smell pee all the time too! I scrubbed my bathrooms down and DH doesn't smell anything. I'm convinced the dog went somewhere and it's under something.

Back in first trimester I would smell cat litter everywhere.

I also sometimes smell poo.  I actually looked all over my living room the other day to make sure one of the dogs didn't go somewhere while we were at work.  I never found anything and the smell went away.  I would get some Glade plug-ins, but I'm sure the Gargantuan Toddler would try to play with them and that would be bad.  I guess I just deal with the smells.

This is prob tmi but when I'm pregnant my sweat, in between my breasts, smells like breast milk. I had to get rid of all my old breast feeding bras, which were the only ones fitting this pregnancy bc I would smell it constantly. Living in florida and having double d's doesn't help the situation.

I smell cat pee too! And even when the litter has be cleaned and new litter filled ! I feel so bad becaude my bf cleans it constantly because I always complian that it stinks so bad! He says im crazy put me in with this pile of ppl who smell things that arent there lol

Yes!!!! I smell paint and cigarette smoke everywhere!

LOL I get phantom smells all the time!! Sometimes they're nice smells..but usually it's something like rotten food, sour milk, pee etc....Smells that put me into a cleaning frenzy lmao.

I smell pee, too! I find myself on my hands and knees at times snuffing the carpet, curtains and furniture to try and find it, though I never do. It comes and goes but it's just so weird.

I've been swearing that I keep getting whiffs of cat pee, despite the fact that I can't find any source for it and I'm smelling it in more than just our house.  DH has found me on more than one occasion crawling on the floor smelling the carpet to see if our cat peed somewhere, but I can't find any pee spots and he doesn't smell it at all.  I feel like I'm going crazy, especially since I can smell it in other places where there aren't even cats!

I was convinced our house smelled like trash yesterday. Like when you leave the package the chicken came in in the trash for days smell. (Gag) MIL and H couldn't smell it but I was febreezing like crazy.
