Been pregnant 3 times now lost them because of a weak cervix. First pregnancy lasted about 14 weeks. Second 16 weeks and the third lasted 20 weeks. I stayed in the hospital for about to days on bed rest with the last one. But the baby couldn't hold on any longer. I'm pregnant again after 3 months and feeling guilty. Trying not to get attach cuz I know the situation. Has any one had the Cerlage and was not put on bed rest.

Update.
At 7 weeks woke up with heavy bleeding soaking through my clothes and bed sheets. Looks like an early miscarriage. Bright red blood and blood clots.

  • No experience, but I'm so sorry for your losses.

    And congratulations!

  • Congrats , I went into early labor at 28 weeks, dilated to 2 cm 100% effaced , had him at 34. They have no idea how I lasted. I got cerclage at 14 weeks and was put on progesterone first 10 wks. He held off on p 17 shots for now. Make sure with your losses you get both. The shots hurt and if you can't handle it do atleast suppositories , it Does help the cervix. I have epilepsy shots can aggravate it so no go unless baby is in danger! Good luck!

  • I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy because of an incompetent cervix, I had a cerclage with my second pregnancy and my son was born at 32 weeks, 14 years later he's a healthy teenager, now I'm pregnant again I had my cerclage done July 16th, no bed rest and everything is good so far, I get my cervix check every two weeks it's still closed. I wish you all the best in this pregnancy
  • Ditto thoughts on progesterone usage. Have you ever thought about seeing a RE for corrective surgery or other treatment? Just a thought. Many prayers for you and little one.

  • No personal experience, but my best friend has gotten the cerclage done twice and has had two healthy baby girls after several first tri losses and two second tri losses. Neither time she has needed to be put on bed rest, but was told to take it easy for a few days after the procedure. She got her stitches out at 37 weeks and still lasted to about 39 weeks with both her girls. Best of luck to you!

  • I'm so sorry for your losses. A good friend from college lost her first at 19 weeks due to IC. Her next 2 pregnancies were successful with cerclages. I think she had both around 36 weeks...quick labors. She was on home bedrest up until that point. I'm
Fuzzy on the rest of the details, but I know her bedrest started fairly early... Best wishes!
