Mid-cycle Ultrasound Results and Switching RE???

I went in for my mid-cycle ultrasound yesterday and there were 2 14mm follicles on the right side and 2 9mm follicles on the left. My RE said don't come back in for another ultrasound and trigger Saturday morning then intercourse Sunday morning and evening. Should I insist on another ultrasound?

I think my RE is very knowledgable but I'm not convinced he's the right fit for me. He's nice and made my husband and I feel confident after the first appointment when he diagnosed me with PCOS. He's just sort of awkward and doesn't seem to offer information unless I ask. Of course I went home last night and was browsing their website and another doctor in the practice has a special interest in PCOS, should I try to switch to him? This is only our second cycle with a RE but obviously I would like to keep this relationship short and want the best results.

My clinic monitored me until follicle maturity or very close to...however I was on injectibles.  2 follicles at 14 yesterday growing at approx 2 mm per day will in theory be def ready on Saturday. Are you having your E2 and LH monitored too? Are you worried about ovulating early or the follies not being mature or both?  If you can afford it and it gives you peace of mind, go ahead and ask, it can't hurt.

They didn't do any bloodwork, just the ultrasound.

I would probably call the office and ask for a nurse to call back...then tell the nurse I would like one more ultrasound, and which day does she recommend? At our office eat least, the nurse would be accommodating.:)

I wouldn't necessarily switch REs at this point, perhaps let him know at the next consult that the more he can explain or give you details, the less anxiety you have about the process?

I have pretty decent insurance and only pay a portion of the cost. I'm going to give the office a call and see what they say.
