Tallin - opinions?

My husband has his heart set on sharing the same initials with our son, but the problem is that it's so hard to find a boy name that starts with a T. DH came across and loves the name Tallin. At first I said no; I have a friend whose brother's name is Talon and it always reminded me of a bird claw. DH said that it would be like Dallin with a T, and I think that's better, but I'm not sold on the name yet.

What are your thoughts?

Tallinn is a city in Estonia.  I think of that first, and see it as a place-name.  If I were to use it, and I'd not rule it out, I'd spell it with the double N.

Beyond that, I think it as all feminine.  I cannot see it as a male name.  I would definitely assume girl with that name.

Sorry, I am not a fan. It sounds made up to me and all I could find was a possible variation of Talon.

It's a lovely city - look it up! - but personally, I'm not into place names for humans, (unless a place name was a human name first)...
Maybe Terence, Tanner, Thor, Theseus, Timur?

Tallinn is the capital of Estonia, it's a really lovely city, but not suitable as a first name IMO.

My first thought is of the city Tallinn, Estonia.  I was just there so it's fresh in my mind.  As far as naming a baby, it is NMS.  There are many wonderful T names otherwise.  

Thomas, Timothy, Theodore, Tobias, Titus, Thaddeus are just a few that come to mind.  Good luck finding something you both agree on!

Initial reaction: dude, that's not how you spell Tallinn! Secondary reaction: maybe it's supposed to be a creative way to spell Talon? That doesn't make it any better...

Second, if you were to use it anyway, my first thought was that it was for a female like Fallon.

I am not a fan. It seems made up. There are lots of great boy names that start with T. Maybe give an idea of names you like that don't start with a T and people can suggest T names with a similar feel.

I know a Talon and also a Talisman who goes by Talis but think Tallin is a no atleast do Talon
