I was active on the board earlier this year when I was pregnant with my twins. I've checked in occasionally for the last 3 months to see some wonderful news and some terrible news. This process can be so delightful and so gut wrenching. In May, my boys, Owen and Benjamin, arrived very early at 28 weeks despite having a rather uneventful pregnancy. We proceeded to spend every waking minute in the NICU for 10 exceedingly stressful, scary, exhausting, but amazing weeks. We made it through the NICU with no serious or lasting complications, at least none that are medically or developmentally apparent yet, other than some major reflux issues which now keeps us doing constant laundry. The one big benefit to a lengthy NICU stay such as ours was the time to build up a formidable milk supply with a full deep freezer to keep these boys fed well into their adolescence ;-)
With twins I have very little time to participate but I hope to contribute here and there. I really enjoyed being part of this amazing community of LGTBQ moms and moms-to-be and I look forward to getting to know everyone again.
