I'm not sure what to pack for after delivery. I'm having my second child, first cs in less than a month. I'm not sure what I will need. Pants or no pants? Maternity leggings ok? Should I pack my own underwear or just use the hospital mesh? What do you recommend using at home. I thought about coming home in a maxi skirt and a tee. Please help. I keep dreaming my water breaks early and I should get prepared so I'm doing it.

I wore the fold over jersey skirts from Old Navy. They were comfy and I could fold them down under my incision. I used the hospital mesh for a few days because I had pushed for 3 hrs before having a c-section so I needed extra room for ice packs. If I hadn't, I would have used my own underwear. I recommend the enormous Hanes briefs so you can have the waist band above the incision.
I wore the same- the ON jersey skirt. It worked perfectly for the same reasons as mentioned above.
Definitely the hospital mesh undies. And take as many home with you as you can. That is my only real advice I give to pregnant women. They are amazing and I am so glad the nurse told me to raid the bathroom and take them all.
I would pack a robe if you hadn't already planned on it. I also bought a couple of old lady mumu nightgowns at Walmart that would be comfy but I could toss once I left the hospital.
The first 2 days I wore the mesh panties and hospital gown because they were comfy and that was 2 less days of laundry to take home. I wore a backwards gown as a robe to cover my butt when I walked around. Then I bought cheap target pj pants just solid black and solid gray with elastic waists. I wore them with maternity tanks and a zip up fleece jacket.
The nurse still used a peri bottle to clean me the first few times. I didn't need it by the time I went home.
I bought a few pack of granny undies that were actually high waist from Target which were great because the came above my incision. As soon as I was able to take a shower I wore those instead of mesh. I wore loose yoga pants too.
I'm sorry but did you not get anything helpful from the other post? Or did you just not read it?
OP posted here before she posted on S14 so perhaps when this thread had no replies, she went to a board with more traffic. Why is this a problem?
I thought she posted there first, I specifically told her to read this board after she already got advice from a few of us. And she didn't respond there but responded here, I didn't think she would actually post the same thing again after getting advice from S14.
You kinda have to read to read something first to figure out if you don't like it or not. It's not a big deal that she asks the same questions on two boards she just never respond to the responses she got on the S14 board.
I lived in my maternity yoga pants (the waist could go above the incision or fold below) and nursing tanks with built in bras. I hated the gown and the minute I was able to change, I did. As pp have said, raid your room and take everything they let you.
Definitely bring comfy pajamas and a robe, but make sure you can easily access your boobies for nursing. A Henley-style top with buttons or a nursing camisole work great. You don't need more than one or two changes of clothes, because you will sleep a lot the first couple of days and won't want to change. I echo the jersey skirt as a good thing to wear home, though I wore loose stretchy pants with my first one.
I wore the mesh panties until I got home and a couple of days thereafter because they were so much easier to get on/off and I was in a lot of pain.
Also, don't forget your basics - toothbrush; hairbrush; books, etc., and a camera!
I am a FTM getting a c-section so some of this may turn out to be unnecessary but here's what I am bringing/ buying for home.
Hospital Bag
Nursing nightgowns, robe, shower shoes, maternity pads etc like for a regular birth
High waist "fold over" panties from Motherhood (I love these!)
Silicone C-Section Scar patches and a c-section waist binder (I will ask the doctor when I can start using these as I am not sure)
For home
Overnight Panty Pads (Apparently you still bleed a lot after a c-section)
A tv tray designed for beds so that I can eat there if I need to
An extra high co-sleeper thing with removable side so I can get the baby in and out easily by myself
Dermoplast Spray (Like a first Aid/Numbing Spray) that I can use on my scar if it hurts
Stool Softner (TMI but apparently it will hurt if you have to push)
Dry Shampoo, face wipes and baby wipes in case I am not up to showering for a few days (gross but better than nothing!)
My favorite Belgian chocolates and scented candles for the room because we will have earned a treat!!!
I don't recommend spraying anything on your incision, I would talk to your doctor about this first. Eta: also just buy some cheap granny panties, that way you can throw them away if they get stained.
