I'll be delivering at Holy Redeemer. I've been for a few appointments and so far they've been pleasant. I know a few mothers that have delivered there and have enjoyed their experiences. The practice I go to and have gone to for years, is Women's Care of Montgomery County. They have offices in Willow Grove, Cheltenham, Trevose and I can't think of the other offices.

I've been going to Abington for my OB. Great experiences so far. My sister delivered 2 of her babies there and had great nurses. I hear the NICU is great too

I'm with Abington. I love my doc. This is my first but so far the women I've spoken to said Abington was awesome. Also the NICU being there is great, I don't think Holy Redeemer had one? I could be wrong but I had heard Abington was the only one in the area.

I had ds #1 at abington and can attest that their nicu is amazing. I mean hopefully you won't need it but I never gave it a thought until we were there. I was there for almost a week and my nurses and doctors were all awesome. I will be delivering ds 2 there as well.

I just delivered at Abington this month and I was really pleased. The L&D nurses were amazing and were really on top of everything.

Just a random note: I worked for the largest medical malpractice law firm in Center City for 2 years and Abington was one of our most often sued hospitals. I personally avoid Abington for that reason, although I know plenty of people have had great experiences there.

    Funny you say that @mcp6286...

I delivered my first at Pennsylvania Hospital, and have since moved.  I was debating Abington VS HR, and spoke to my BFF who is a nurse practitioner if she had any opinion since she hears more of the down&dirty stuff.  She (obviously) recommended I go back to Pennsylvania (haha), but said Abington is a "baby factory" (ie very little in-hospital personalized care) and she mentioned Abington's litigation too.  So I'm going Holy Redeemer because Pennsylvania is a little too far from home for my comfort.

However, to each his own.  IMHO, being comfortable with & confident in your doctors, as well as newborn/pediatric care, should be a top priority, and its a personal choice.

Already a proud mommy to Gabriella, Samarah, Finnegan & Juliette.
I can't wait to see what Baby #5 has in store for us!

I recently delivered at Holy Redeemer and had a wonderful experience. The doctor who was supposed to deliver me got stuck in a c-section when it was time for me to push- so we ended up with the triage docs... who was amazing! The nurses were great and knowledgeable. We will definitely go back if we are blessed with another LO.

@megmack‌ Holy Redeemer is a good choice! Sometimes I'm glad to know what I know about all the area hospitals but other times it's a pain lol

Just delivered at Holy Redeemer. I loved it. They do have a NICU. The nursing staff was amazing. They took such good care of me and LO. I would recommend them to everyone.

I delivered at Abington 2 weeks ago. Fantastic nurses in L&D and postpartum. The only negative feedback I have is all the nurses are trained in breastfeeding. The one day nurse I had was no help at all. I had a small hemorrhage so I was unable to start BFing til the 2nd day. I didn't get to see an LC til the night before we left which was not very helpful. My suggestion for any hospital really is to make sure to request one ASAP. I should have asked when was teh soonest I could try, but that first day was a bit overwhelming.

Either way I loved my experience and would recommend to others.

I'm delivering at Redeemer in April. My aunt says people at her hospital (Jeanes) refer to it as 'Hotel Redeemer' because they are SO accommodating! Security is top notch as well which puts me at ease. My friend also just delivered a preemie at HR in December and was raving about the nurses (they're also affiliated with CHOP so you know they're amazing). I had a friend who used to work at Abington and was constantly talking about them cutting jobs so it made me a little weary when trying to decide but Redeemer just took them over so things should be getting better!

    I just discovered there's a Philly board :)

I find this shocking! I delivered both my girls at Abington and loved the experience. The nurses, rooms, food, all were excellent. Dd3 will be delivered there and I'm looking forward to it! I'm not even going to wonder what the lawsuits were for ☺️
