Extremely itch feet/toes???!?

I'm 26 weeks and have noticed over the past week but feet have been super itchy!! It's become worse today and is HORRIBLE at night. At first I thought it was maybe because my feet were swelling, causing my skin to stretch and itch. But I've done some research and keep finding that it may be Obstetric Cholestasis? Any others experiencing this?!?!

My friend recently had that and the itching spread all over her body, but her hands were the worst. You may want to call your ob and have your levels checked. It may be nothing, or just unfortunate, but if you're concerned about it you should call in case.

I have tried lotion every night and it doesn't seem to help. I know it sounds crazy, I hadn't called my dr yet cause I thought it sounded so silly! And yes this was google research that made me worry! Lol. I think I'll call, If anything just to put my mind at ease. They can fun of me if they want but I would rather be safe than sorry! (: thanks for the responses!

I had Cholestasis of pregnancy during my 1st pregnancy. If you are worried about this you need to see your doctor.

I wasn't necessarily going to google for medical "advice". I just typed in my symptoms to see what it brought up, like I'm sure EVERYONE has done at some point. So those of you who think it's ridiculous that I even posted and asked can just ignore my post. I'm not asking for your approval, just seeing if anyone else was experiencing the same thing.

I woke up one night about a week or so ago with such itchy feet! I also went over my caffeine limit that previous day, so maybe the two correlated? I haven't noticed the problem since. Hope this isn't something that lasts for you!

I'm not a doctor, but I think dry skin or athletes foot is much more probable than Obstetric Cholestasis.

I agree with Abbyful, it's more likely it could be athletes foot. You could get it from anywhere and it's basically a yeast overgrowth like thrush but only on your feet. It's hot, sweaty, maybe eating too much carbs/sugar, etc... All these factors contribute to overgrowth. I encourage you to contact your doctor and at least rule out AThletes before worrying about more serious pregnancy symptoms.

I really wish I knew how to gif this up. I think a weatherman's 'boy, it escalated quickly' gif applies in this situation.

Im right at 30 weeks, and ive been suffering from this for about a month and a half, except my entire body itches all the time, especially at night. Talked to my doctor and he checked my liver function and something to do with bile. Everything seems to be normal. He told me to take claritin for it, but im more of a natural mama so ive just been dealing with it, which is hard to do when it keeps me awake at night. Lotions dont work for me, and I've had allergic reactions to tea tree oil since ive been preg. Hopefully i dont have to deal with it for 10 more weeks.

I am having the same problem. I myself checked online and came up with the ch word( sry autocorrect keeps changing it) . Spoke to my high risk doc and she agreed. She is checking my bile acid levels. She the started me on ursodiol 500 mg 2x daily. It has taken the edge off. I had this same problem when I was pregnant with my 19 yr old. There was not a lot of info out on it.

I've had cholestasis with my last 2 pregnancies. The only way to diagnose is with a test done by your doctor. They check it by taking blood and the itching is miserable and it doesn't really stop until a couple days after delivery no matter what. Things like lotions and medication will just take the edge off. But they also consider taking the baby early when you have cholestasis. Good luck I hope you don't really have it. It's a miserable feeling to have for weeks!
