SO thinks my preferred names are 'posh'. Recently, he likes any names I ask his opinion on, and then I mean every name (from Olympia to Godfried), I guess he's fed up with my name games Names he considers too posh: Beatrice (weep with me please), Juliana, Hugo and many more.
Well, as I posted about earlier, my H thought that Brooklyn was a great idea. :-& And he pretty much hates anything adventurous, "old-lady," or classic. I'm in baby name hell with him. Haha.
Names I love that he's vetoed: Elias Miles Graham (I'm still wearing him down)
Charles
Alice Catherine Dorothy
Elisabeth (ex gf) Emilia Fiona Isla
and oh so many more...
Names I vetoed that he came up with:
Harmon (He wanted to nn him "Harm." Seriously.)
Lincoln
Kate (I vetoed it as a fn, but happily compromised to put it in the mn spot.) Brooklyn Hensley Olivia (I love it, but just don't love the popularity right now, so I pulled it off the short list.)
I rarely get anything good out of him, but you never know when he'll change his mind about something, (i.e. Ruby is back on the short list!)

@SadieSue82 LOL at your husband. Hensley and Harmon seriously make me snort. How did you keep a straight face at those suggestions.
I thought Harmon was a joke. He was dead serious!
He named our son Harrison, so I know he has it in him. I just told him since he named the last one, I get to name this one. If we have a boy I don't know what I'll do. I'm just out of options on boys names with him.
*Eta that it doesn't help that his last name doesn't go with anything. So many of the names I love sound awful with his last name. I've threatened to take my maiden name back. Haha.

It seems like many husbands like the 80's dated names, maybe because it is what they are familiar with? I see Jessica, Samantha, Hailey on here and IRL I hear the same thing from my friends about their husbands. Two of my friends husbands wanted Jennifer on their lists.
I agree, I think it's names they grew up with or names they hear a lot. I will say when we named DD a few males suggested Arya, Daenerys and Khaleesi lol.

I giggled a little because you love Catherine and he loves Kate, but you each dislike the other. Too bad, you could both win with Catherine nn Kate.
We agree on girls names (Probably going with Georgia Luelle) but we cannot agree on boys names, I am like totally in Love with Rhys Derek as a name but he looooathes it,

Right? That one is not on me. Haha. He only likes Kate.

Cormac
Thor
Audrey
Freya
Millicent
Some of my names my hubby shot down:
Damien
Desmond
Rupert
Ernest
Hugo
Cecilia
Lyra
Viola
Serena
Claire/Clara
Agnes
I forgot, mine shot that one down too. "Too ho-bag" Thanks a lot Simon & Garfunckle!
My husband sounds like all of yours. The names he has vetoed for the dumbest reasons Girls: Gemma (stripper name) Lucy/Sophie (dogs names) Genevieve/Juliet (too literaturey) Violet (the girl from willy wonka) Penelope NN Poppy(will only say it in a Spanish accent and like he's trying to catcall David Ortiz) Boys: Brooks (thinks it sounds girly) Hugo (dog)
His choices that I said only if he's the one pushing it out: Jennifer (his ex gf's name and it's the name of my niece) Guinevere and Arthur from the legend (but Genevieve and Juliet aren't ok?) Walker - he played 7 years of professional baseball as a pitcher. I still don't think gets the irony
ETA: Not really a veto but he likes a lot of NN options but doesn't like the full name but I agrees that he wouldn't want to use just a NN. Ex Maggie/Daisy but he hates Margaret. On the fence about Magdalena and Magnolia though Eliza/Lizzy/Birdie/Betty- he loves them all but hates Elizabeth because it's his sisters MN. However, he's cool with her FM in the MN spot- go figure Ella/Nora - hates Eleanor.
Remy (He doesn't actually have anything against this, but says he doesn't think it's going to work out anyway)
Jack ("Boring. Plus don't we know a Jaxon?")
Ilya ("That's too ethnic. He'll be beat up by angry Russians!")
Rory ("But I hate Doctor Who!")
...We're just coming in from completely opposite kinds of names here! Though today he actually suggested Tennessee (as in Williams) which I kind of like. Tennessee Williams' actual name was Thomas, which is my SO's name, so I might try and hold out for that since I just really don't like his other suggestions at all
We were having trouble coming up and agreeing with boy names.
I liked: Finn Reid Ethan Connor
We both liked Jack ok, but no boy names jumped out at us. We agreed to worry about it after finding out the sex of the twins.
We ended up on Team Pink! Surprisingly, we have been pretty much on the same page with girl names. Isla and Claire are high on our list right now. Some of you might of seen my thread I started and some of you suggested Iris and Clara as an alternative, but he really loves the name Claire. I don't want to give up Isla right now. We still have time and we might change our minds completely!

Husband hates any boy name I suggest (my favorite is Leo, a nod to my Dad). Which ones do I hate? None. DH refuses to suggest any boy names because he "doesn't like boy names". Well, we can't name our son Jennifer soooooo...... lets hope we have all girls?
We finally agreed on Jacob. Only because its the one suggestion he would give me and I don't hate it.
