How long would you use an opened can of formula?

DD is 95% EBF, but I just realized I only have enough BM for daycare tomorrow and she might need to get a bottle while I'm at the doctors today. On the formula can (Neocate) it says to use within a month. It's been opened for probably 2 or 3 months...I can't see why it would be bad as it seems like mostly chemicals, but is there some reason they say this?

Oops. I didn't even think about that. If it makes you feel better, we gave LO a bottle from a can that was opened when he was a few weeks old. That could explain why he spit up for two days. I suck at parenting.
