So I told myself I wouldn't jump in here head first until the 2nd or 3rd beta...but I already have questions popping up in my head that wouldn't be appropriate on 3T/IF.  Plus, I've missed some of the ladies on here since you graduated from 3T!  So I figure I should say hello before asking questions.

I've been on TB since around Feb'13, mostly on 3T.  Did a couple of IUIs, had an IVF cycle cancelled due to poor response (I have low AMH), and have gotten my first positive ever after my first full IVF cycle.  My first beta today came back at 445, so I am more comfortable with the idea that this may be it after the strong beta...but of course I'm still really paranoid.

My question is...from what day do you start counting the number of weeks you're pregnant?  I thought it was from ER day (conception), but I'm trying to google normal hcg levels (I'm a little worried with the high number) and it seems like they count from the start of a cycle.  When you say you usually have your ultrasound at 6 weeks, is that counting from IUI/ER date or from CD1?  I don't even know how to count since I did FET.

    Yay! I saw this over on 3T and was hoping you'd make your way over here! Congrats! Also no advice from me on the how far along you are because I did IUI. But Congrats and Welcome! Your beta number is great!!
    Me 29 DH 30 Unexplained IF TTC since wedding May 2012. IUI #1 11/5/13-BFN.  IUI #2 12/5/13-BFN. IUI #3-12/30/14. All three with Femara CD 3-7 and Ovidrel trigger. +HPT 1/13/14 First +ever!!! Beta #1 195 Beta #2 1/15-533. Ultrasound on 2/4 showed one bean. EDD 9/22/14. Team Green turned Team Blue-Baby Conner arrived on 9/19/14.

    Squee!!!!! Congratulations! That's a great first beta! Geordie's link calculated me accurately. The say at ER you would have been "2weeks gestational". So if your beta was 2weeks after that, you would be 4 weeks gestation.

    My first beta wasn't until 14dp5dt, so I was 4w5d at beta, based on my ER date. They only told me what I was during my first U/S, which was at 6w1d, 6 weeks gestational.

    I'm not 100% positive, but I think my actual clinic and the clinic at which I do my monitoring count FETs differently, based on what I got told today. It's just a day's difference, but at this early stage the days drag by like eternity, so it feels huge. You could consider just asking someone there how to count it, as that will help explain when the days they choose for scans and so forth.

    I LOVE this site for my pregnancy calculator bc you can put in IVF and then day transfer from the drop down menus and then see all the dates.
    You should then be able to use the day you get on a site like betabase.

    Congrats!!! That's a strong beta as well!! I started counting from cd1 of my ivf cycle and that's been right based on the baby's growth but I'm not sure about FET cycles. I would assume 6 wks from cd1 is when you should except to have your first ultrasound.

    Let us know how the second and third betas go!

    Yay!!!!  Rock on for just moving right on over here - gotta be positive and optimistic!  You have every reason to expect this to stick!  I finally came to the realization that I wasn't going to jinx myself out of being pregnant by being hopeful and believing in it - it took awhile to get to that point though ;-)

    I would count the day of ER as 2 weeks.  So 14 days past ER would be 4 weeks pregnant, just freezing any time that the embryos were frozen for a FET (so if it's a 5dt, then count 2 weeks 5 days, plus all the time from ET).

    And that "high number" is almost identical to my first beta at 15 dpIUI.  I was worried about twins, but my doctor and nurse swore up and down they believed it to be only one baby.  It probably could have gone either way, singleton or twins, as betas can be an indicator but not a direct correlation to the number of embryos that stuck.  But I think it sounds like a FABULOUS number for one very healthy baby ;-)

    @southernyankeegirl  Thank you!  Yeah, I was telling DH that they froze our embryos when it was almost day 6...so I think that is pushing the number up.  We've always been open to multiples, but when I told DH the beta number, he kinda freaked out.

    How many days post ET were u when the beta was drawn? My re just went with what the fetuses were measuring at my first u/s which really put me about a week behind what I thought I would be. But oh well. I mean seriously when it comes down to your EDD those babies come when they want.

    About it being a high beta it really depends on how many dpt you are. My first beta with ds was 1069 for me but I was 18dpo so it was high but it was also a little later. This time I had it done early and it was 14@10dpo and twins. So I'm all over the place.

    As the other ladies said, you are considered two weeks pregnant on retrieval day. That's your "ovulation" day if you want to use one of the due date calculators.

    @BabyKsMommy Beta was 10p5dt.  DH was researching like a mad man last night, and I think he finally understands it's not really a good indicator of the number of kiddos we will have.  He's happy either way, but I think b/c we found out a few days ago that I'll be laid off at the end of the year, he's extra stressed.

    I was so confused with my EDD so I just googled several IVF due date calculators and got it. Betas can vary a lot, so even a high beta don't necessarily mean twins but that's a great first beta to have!

    Dx: MFI; June '14 IVF w/ ICSI: 11R, 8M, 5F... 1 5dt, beta #1: 213, beta #2: 621, beta #3: 8545!

    TTC since 9/2011. DH - 32, me 32.

    IUI#1 (natural): BFN; IUI#2 (clomid): BFN; IUI#3 (clomid and follistim): BFN.

    IVF #1 March 2013, freeze all (OHSS).

    FET#1 June: BFN

    FET#2 August: delayed due to thin lining (6.3).  Took a few months off to try and thicken the lining with lots of estrodial.  FET#2.2 December: Cancelled due to thin lining (4.8). Two frosties left.

    *New RE* Sonohystrogram and hystereoscopy done in Feb.

    IVF #2: ER 3/4/14  ET 3/7/14, transferred 3, 3 day 9 cell perfect embryos.  No frosties.

    Beta #1 (14dp3dt) 504

    Beta #2 (21dp3dt) 11,561

    First ultrasound on 4/3/14 showed 3 sacs: one empty and two with beating hearts!!  At 7w2d, found out that one baby did not have a heartbeat anymore.  Praying that baby B makes it.  Baby B is a girl!

    EDD 11/25/14 BORN 11/29/14

    Congrats! Nice to see you over here! :)  I was 4 weeks pregnant the day they called me.

    Me:     30, DH: 32
    My hx:  uterus/hormones normal Dx: low AMH 0.5 = poor ovarian reserve
    hubby hx: low sperm count, poor motility, started on clomid, retest in May showed no improvement, will be on clomid another 3 months, another retest scheduled for August

    Started IVF #1:  ~BFP Mentioned~
    • ER (Thursday April 17th, 3 precious eggs).
    • April 18th: Received news 2 out of 3 eggs fertilized!
    •  Planned 3dt: Easter day, transferred two 8B embryos and received pictures :)
    • BFP starting 8dp3dt 5/1 Beta #1: 87, 5/3 Beta #2 206 
    • 5/19 Heartbeat 123bpm
    • EDD 1/8/15

     3 morula stage embryos transferred on 9/25/13.....Beta #1 on 10/4/13/ = 7.5  Beta #2 on 10/6/13 =  negative

      IVF#2 - Lupron plan  (set to begin on 10/28/13)  (Planning on thawing and fertilizing our 6 eggs with ICSI as well as all of the mature eggs they retrieve with this fresh cycle.)

     Late October 2013 - ectopic pregnancy - methotrexate injection....benched 3 months

    CD1 - 12/5/13...Lupron set to start on 12/26/13; CD1 - 1/2/14....Baseline 1/3/14....begin follistim tonight and continue with lupron.  (Got my calendar today!  IVF#2 is a go!)

    ER = 1/14/14  (11 eggs....9 were mature. 9 fertilized.  Of the 6 mature eggs we thawed, only 4 fertilized.  At this time, we have 13 eggs fertilized and growing.  Waiting for news about a 3-day or 5-day transfer.)

    ET = 1/19/14  (5dt).....3 blastocysts transferred!   (All nine embryos didn't make it to freeze.  =(  )

    Beta #1 = 1/28/14   (2 weeks after ER)  BFP! 209 (9dp5dt)   EDD 10/7/14

    Beta #2 - 1/30/14  (11 dp5dt) 302

    Beta #3 - 2/3/14  (15 dp5dt)  1222 

    Ultrasound set for 2/17/14......TWINS!        Twin A - HR 124 bpm; Twin B - HR 126 bpm

    Final Ultrasound with RE 3/10/14 - Twin A - HR 176 bpm; Twin B - HR 177 bpm.

     PAIF/SAIF Welcome!
