Baby Names

Name suggestions

All of a sudden my husband is questioning the name we were leaning toward for our baby girl due in 3 weeks. We were pretty sure we were going to go with Megan Mackenzie ( Mackenzie for my dad and grandfather who both go by Mack.) We really haven't looked at a ton of names because both of us liked that name and were pretty happy with it. Any suggestions for any other names we could think about? We have 3 other children: Jaiden (boy, he is adopted and we didn't change his name), Garrett and Kelsey. Some others that I like but haven't mentioned to him are Whitney, Bridget, and Violet. The middle name is 99% Mackenzie for the family connection. Jamie is another name with a family connection.

Thanks for your input everyone!

Re: Name suggestions

  • Violet is my favorite (obviously) but Megan is nice. I also like Bridget. Whitney is nms.

  • I actually really like the name you've chosen. Megan (Meg) is very cute. I like it and I think you shouldn't doubt your initial instincts.  Prebaby jitters....

    I love Bridget Mackenzie!

Eta: Megan is lovely as well, and I agree with @vixxylu‌ that it's probably just pre-baby jitters. Go with the name you love.

  • My name is Bridget, same spelling. I always get compliments on it, and it's well respected. It's not very common so people often remember it and it's a stand out among many newer names. A word of caution, consider adding the extra -te on the end for the extra syllable. Since gradeschool everyone immediately calls me "Bridge" and I've had to correct many people, or bite my tongue. By putting the emphasis on the -ette people usually water it down to "Bridget" instead of "Bridge"- a tactic I sometimes still use when meeting new people. Hope that helps with your decision making :)
  • Thank you everyone for your input! I relayed everything to my husband.
