Boy name for a girl opinions...

I don't know the sex yet, but were tossing around baby names. What better place to get honest options than from strangers. DS's name is Caleb. He is 3. MH's name is Randy.

What do you think of Randi Vivian for a girl (Randy after MH and Vivian, after my mom)? I got the suggestion of Miranda or Brandy but really dislike both. I like Randi for a girl, but I would hate to give her (if the baby is a her) a name that would cause confusion later.

Also, is being named and having 2 names of living family members is weird?

I knew a girl named Sammi-Jo (not Samantha) after her dad, Sammy and I thought it was cute.

Not a fan. I do like the suggestion of Miranda with the nn Randi.

I do know a girl named Randa because her father is Randy. But im not sure if Randa is even legit.

Even though the only randy I know is a girl it still screams male to me and not in a cute/good way. Randy is a harsh name for a boy, don't put it on a little girl...

personally not a fan of more than one person in the house/family with the same name. also not a fan of masculine name for your feminine LO

Thank you for your opinions! It really does help. I LOVE my mom's name, Vivian. I really want that  as a middle name. What classic and traditionally spelled names go with Vivian?

I have no issues with naming kids after living family members. But it runs rampant in my family, LOL.

I agree with the others that Randi isn't a great girl name, sounds too cutesy, and will age poorly. I love Miranda, but if you don't like it I think it's time to rethink your name choice. If you still want to honor your H, can you use his MN or a name from someone else in his family? If you just liked the name, I'm afraid it just won't work, esp for a girl

I'm glad I am getting feedback. I don't want to give my kid a weird name (boy or girl). I don't want to "force" a weird name to just make it work/sake of the name.

Caleb and Randi is such a bizarre sibset for a boy/girl combo. Not a fan. Randi is just bad for a girl. Mn it if you want to use it. Vivian is gorgeous, I'd pick that 100000 times over Randi.

First of all, you're not going to find much love for typically masculine names on girls on this board.

I personally am fine with it, but in this case I just really don't like Randi. Maybe you can mn it, and use Vivian first?

 l do like the name Eden for a girl. I don't think it sounds good with Vivian.

I love Miranda, but it is my step sisters name. They call her Mir for a nick name though which I hate, I think Randi is a cute nickname for Miranda

I like Miranda a lot. I really dislike Randi for a girl, and especially with it being your husband's name. As someone with a "junior" I would urge you to choose something else.
