Plus the underused Verity. I have heard Birdie as a nickname for Verity. Something with the sound of the two names and I see how it would work pretty well.

My DD's nn at daycare is Birdie, but her name is Olivia. She got the nn because she got so excited for the meals and snacks there that she'd flap her arms like a bird. I realize this is not helpful for you.
