Napping at 1yr

Ok, so DD will be 1 on September 5. Lately her napping is all over the place. She sleeps through the night about 8:30pm to 6:30 am. Then she still needs a nap exactly 2 hrs after waking up. That can last 20 min or 1 1/2hrs. Then she usually naps once or twice more in the afternoon. Also can anywhere from 20 min to 1 1/2hrs. Is this still normal? Should I be helping her break the morning nap more. I try to play with her but I know she just needs to sleep bc she gets very ramie and irritable. Sometimes throughout the day she lays her head on me, she's very affectionate so I'm not totally sure if she's trying to tell me she sleepy or just loving on me. What do you think?

Re: Napping at 1yr

  • I've heard to hold onto 2 naps as long as you can! My LO still takes two naps, she would be a wreck without that morning nap still!

  • My lil guy goes to bed at 7, is up between 6-7am, naps 9-10ish and 1-3ish. He's just started making that second nap later in the last month or so.

  • @Ash1103 I just wanted to say I'm jealous of your affectionate baby!  I wish my LO cuddles me more he's always go go go.  But I soak up all the cuddles I can get!
  • I'm in the same boat as you, OP. My LO wakes around 5:30-6 and is down for the morning nap by 9. She also takes an hour long (sometimes longer) afternoon nap around 2. Bedtime is around 7.  Teething almost always messes up sleep around here, so I would take that into consideration. I SAH with my LO, so I have the ability to kind of go with the flow.  I hope things get easier for you! I know how tricky it can get when the naps become nil... :-S
