Farther along than I think?

Hi everyone! I got a positive test two weeks ago, the day before my missed period. I have been super nauseous since early that week and tired, sore boobs, etc. I'm wondering if it's possible that I'm farther along than I think... My last period in July was shorter than normal (usually it's a full 7 days but it was only 5 and lighter than normal). The doc won't see me until sept 15.... And when I said I was worried that I'm a month farther they said it's no big deal. This is my first pregnancy so I have no point of reference... Is it really no big deal? Am I just being anxious? Could I really just have started having symptoms that early (weeks 3 & 4)?

Ps. We're over the moon excited that it happened!

  • It's okay to wait. Some docs won't see you until week 11/12. I'm not sure you're farther along though. I guess you could be... but if you had a period in July, I doubt it. Implantation bleeding, to my knowledge doesn't last that long and is not enough to call it a period at all. I had implantation bleeding for one day with my first and it was brown old blood.

  • The only way to know for sure is if you were temping/tracking ovulation. If you had a period in July I'm sure it's pretty close to accurate maybe off by a week or so. Congrats and welcome!

  • I started feeling my symptoms before I even got my BFP at 3w3d. I was sooooo exhausted the week before I got my positive that I already knew I was preggers. So it's definitely possible!
  • I'm in the same boat, but my last period was in June. I told my doc and they're doing an u/s on thurs to check how far along I am
  • With my first I had implantation bleeding that lasted for about 4 days that I thought was my period. I thought I hadn't even missed a period and found out that I was 7 weeks.

This time I started having symptoms right away, at about 3 weeks. So yes, that is possible.

You will be fine. If you are farther along than you thought you should find out at your first appointment.

  • I found out I was pregnant right around 3.5 weeks and the only reason I took a test was because I was having some pretty gnarly symptoms. You could be a bit farther along or you could just be one of the lucky ones with early symptoms. Waiting a few more weeks before your first appointment is fine.
