Breastfeeding

If you've donated through HM4HB, please come in!

I just took inventory of my freezer stash and I think I would like to donate about 100 oz now with the possibility of being a steady donor of about 50-75 oz a month. I want to post on HM4HB, but I'm a little unsure of the etiquette for choosing a recipient. I'd prefer to find a mom with a baby a little younger than my daughter since the milk I'm donating will be more closely matched to their needs. Can I state this in my post? Or should I just wait and see who responds and make a decision then? And should I respond to everyone who messages me to say I'm giving it to someone else, or just the person I choose to donate to?

Sorry for so many questions. Thanks for any advice!

  • They post many people that are requesting milk, and you can select from those people, or can post and see who replies...

Of course you can chose who to donate to, but part of donating is letting the donors make their own educated choices about what milk to accept. So I'd let them decide rather than making a bunch of stipulations in your offer.

I've donated over 1000 oz through hmfhb and eof. It's a wonderful thing to do :)
